I also have the ability to come to you with our mobile welding service truck. I got a large majority of my technical training through Idaho State University. At Bull Moose Land Services we have a relatively small crew - 3 to 8, depending on the job - but we still have a diverse array of specialties, from tree services to irrigation. In fact, our specialty is fire mitigation, especially in places like cabin homes that reside in heavily forested areas. A fire-mitigation job can range from simple to complex: we might just collect debris (i.e., fuels) from the ground and haul them off or stack to burn in the winter or we may have large numbers of trees to cut and remove in addition to installation of fire-mitigation irrigation systems. We have experience working in many cities in Wyoming, including Jackson, Laramie, Casper, and Cheyenne, but we will also work in neighboring states.

Gate Repair questions, answered by experts

You can install manual gates yourself. However, professional installation is recommended for automated or large gates to ensure proper setup.

When choosing a driveway gate, consider the fence material, whether you want an automatic gate or a manual one, and property limitations like the slope of your driveway. We recommend speaking with a professional driveway gate installer to see what types of gates will work on your property based on your fencing or home’s exterior. Keep in mind that driveway gates should range between 10 to 12 feet wide to ensure cars can easily maneuver through the gateway.

A security door costs an average of $1,400, but costs can range from $600 for a simple screen or steel door to more than $4,600 for a wrought-iron security door. You can also buy specialized locks separately for $200 to $600. If you decide to hire a pro to install your new security door, you’ll spend around $275 to $425 on labor costs.

Other mechanisms can help you keep your gate securely shut. Secure gate latch types will do the job, such as magnetic or spring-loading, self-closing lever varieties, or automatic gate openers. However, they won’t control the speed at which the gate closes. You can purchase slam plates that use rubber buffers to reduce noise and the potential damage-inducing impact of a fast-closing, heavy gate.

If increased security is your bag, you may want to steer away from a simple wood gate. After all, it’s pretty easy to cut through wood. Instead, go for a metal gate with an advanced locking system. Even better? Install a high-tech automated barrier system similar to those found at commercial facilities. However, you’ll pay handsomely for the privilege.
