Small jobs welcome

"I hired them to remodel my kitchen, two bathrooms, paint and install new flooring and staircase. They did a good job. I was not happy with the first set of cabinets and James set up a consultation with the cabinet maker so we could come to a fair agreement. James is a really good communicator, he would call or text at the end of the day to let me know what they did and then to tell me what they were doing the next day and at what time they would arrive."

"I must say that we are highly pleased with the work completed by Valor Home Solutions. Ammaron spent most of one day with us working on a plan as to what we wanted as a finished product. At the end of our meeting, we knew what to expect in regard to cost in material, labor, and quality of work. This project involved remodeling a very old bathroom. The old tub was removed, a new modern walk-in shower was installed with all new plumbing, a new floor was installed and deteriorated wood replaced where needed, and a new vanity was installed. Valor Home Solutions did an excellent job at keeping communication open throughout the project. Nothing was done without checking with us to make sure everything was to our expectations and satisfaction. I highly recommend this company to everyone in search of a professional contractor to remodel any part of their home. I am more than happy to have my name used as a referral for Valor Home Solutions. "Once I sent her all the measurements, it took her a little while to get the options back to me.  Overall, they're good designs.  However, they're very simplistic and give general ideas for space planning.  I was hoping to have a better idea for sizes of furniture for the space and some variations on staging.
Jill was very responsive when I did have a question.  I'm not sure how helpful it is to have a virtual design done.  If we lived in similar cities, I'd probably use her again for help with additional designs.

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

You can resurface or reglaze your bathtub, and it’s faster and less expensive than replacing a bathtub. Plus, replacing a bathtub is an extensive and intrusive process that requires wall repairs. Refinishing is an excellent option if the old one is in good working condition.

There are also options to install a bathtub liner over your existing tub. However, if you’re seeking a new bathtub with new features, you’ll likely want to replace your tub.

A standard bathtub can be used for soaking, but they tend to be shallower (between 15 and 18 inches deep). A soaking tub is designed to be deep enough to totally submerge yourself in the water (about 20 and 24 inches deep). Additionally, most soaking tubs are freestanding, while regular bathtubs come in various styles with drop-in, surround, and wall-mounted options available.

Installing a drop-in tub yourself is possible, especially if you’re replacing your existing tub with a new one of the same size. If you’re replacing a different type of tub, you’ll need to build the structure to hold the new drop-in tub and finish the exposed sides. The structure must be sturdy enough to hold the tub when it’s filled with water, and you’ll need to seal it. If any plumbing work is required, it’s best to call a licensed plumber who installs bathtubs.

Installing a clawfoot tub with a minimum of 6 inches of clearance from surrounding walls allows ample room for the faucet and pipework, makes cleaning easier, and reduces the chance of moisture being trapped between the tub and the walls. It might need to be closer if the faucet comes directly out of the wall.

The water supply lines run underneath the bathtub. These two pipes deliver cold and hot water to the bathtub—the cold water comes from the main water supply, and the hot water comes from the water heater. The pipes are made from copper, cream-colored plastic CPVC, or red and blue PEX tubing.
