"It took a lot of phone tag to finally get the technician to our house, but once here he was efficient and professional and did an amazing job. The chip was in the edge of a white quartz countertop, very difficult to match perfectly, and the repair is absolutely invisible. Not the lowest bid, but worth the price."

With over 100 years in business, we are the area’s premier kitchen & bath design firm. We provide you with everything you will need for your dream kitchen or bathroom. From designs by our degreed, interior designers, to superior brands of custom cabinetry, as well as top of the line products for fixtures & tile, then finished off by the installation by our in-house seasoned professionals.

"They do good work. But they are not the customer-oriented company that they used to be. One of their associates measured tile for our shower floor projects and measured incorrectly, resulting in us purchasing $200 worth of tile (2 extra boxes) over and above what was needed. Since this was a "custom" product, they would not offer any refund, partial refund or take any responsibility. I feel that this is bad business practice, and I can no longer recommend Davis Kitchen & Tile."

Marble and Granite questions, answered by experts

The rule tells you how to cut tile to install it in a corner. The 3/4/5 rule recommends that you should have 3 feet across on one straight line, four feet on the other perpendicular line, and 5 feet of length from the end of one of the lines to the other. You’re making a right triangle with the tile, and the hypotenuse (the line across from where the 3-foot lie and 4-foot line meet) should be 5 feet long.

The lifespan of bathroom tile is 50 or more years, depending on proper installation and regular maintenance. Leaving installation to a pro and regularly cleaning, resealing, and regrouting the tile can help lengthen the life of your tile and save you money in repairs and retiling in the long run.

Yes, but you should only put tile directly on drywall in smaller areas that don’t experience excess moisture. For example, a small kitchen tile backsplash could work, but installing tile directly on the drywall in a bathroom or other chronically damp area is not a good idea. Either way, a cement backer board is a far more reliable solution, as drywall is susceptible to moisture and can warp or cause your tiles to crack.

Yes. You can tile over tile if the old tile is in good shape, but this will also create a thicker floor. As a result, you may have to remove and readjust baseboards and other room trimmings and potentially even raise door heights to work with the higher floors. In most projects, it’s best to remove the old tile before installing a new tile floor.

Popular options include ceramic, porcelain, stone, and glass tiles, chosen based on the area (bathroom, kitchen) and desired aesthetic.
