Concrete sealers will help your garage floors resist water, but they will not make the floor waterproof. You will need to purchase a specific waterproof floor paint for concrete and apply several coats over several days if you want your garage floor to be truly impermeable. While the process is similar to sealing the floors, the materials are different, and the need for multiple coats will extend the process and drying time.

Spraying water on concrete will slow down the curing process and can help create a stronger slab. You can be more aggressive on a concrete floor than on hardwood, so scrape off as much as possible. Then you can soak the area with hot water for a few minutes before continuing to scrape. If there is still glue left behind, use a solvent that is made to remove adhesives and apply it to the area. Then scrape the rest of the glue off.

Some concrete finishes, like polished concrete, will need to be refinished periodically—depending on the finish and foot traffic, you may need to refinish or reseal your concrete floors every five to 20 years.
