Small jobs welcome

"When I talked to them I told him that I wanted the house and the deck and patio and the fence around the deck and patio power washed. They did not do the deck nor the patio for he said it was not included in the price! They came without a ladder to power wash a two-story house and had to be provided with one!"

"He did exactly what he said he would in a timely manner. His work was excellent and the ceiling repair looked better than before the water damage to the ceiling. I would highly recommend him for any type of drywall work. He was very nice to work with and at a very reasonable price.."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

In Morgantown, privacy fences along backyard slopes and chain link fencing near wooded areas often require extra attention due to shifting soils and local wildlife like deer. Fences bordering creeks or drainage ditches are prone to erosion, while pool enclosures and wood fences near busy roads can suffer from road salt and moisture. Regular checks in these areas help prevent long-term issues.

Helpful?

In WV, fencing projects may impact buried water lines, septic systems, or drainage tiles, especially on properties with steep grades. Watch for signs like uneven ground, lush patches of grass, or standing water, which can indicate hidden systems. Before installing a new fence, map out all visible utility boxes and septic lids to avoid accidental disruptions to critical home infrastructure.

Helpful?

In Morgantown, start by confirming your property boundaries with a recent survey and reviewing any neighborhood association guidelines. Arrange for underground utility marking several days in advance, and consider a soil test since local clay can complicate post installation. Check city setback rules and talk with neighbors if you share a fence line. Planning for Morgantown’s frequent rainstorms helps prevent weather-related delays.

Helpful?

For Morgantown, schedule fencing work in late summer or early fall to avoid muddy conditions from spring rains. Choose contractors familiar with hillside installations and ensure they can access your property’s terrain. Address any drainage or grading needs before starting, and coordinate with other outdoor projects. Gathering multiple quotes and budgeting for unexpected soil or slope challenges will keep your project on track.

Helpful?

Fencing in Morgantown benefits from a spring inspection for frost heave, especially on sloped lots. Clean vinyl or chain link fences to remove algae from humid summers, and reapply stain or sealant to wood fences every few years to protect against rain and UV exposure. Trim back overgrown vines and check for insect damage in summer. Tighten hardware after storms to maintain fence stability.
