"Rather than fix the issue the first 2 calls, more refrigerant was pumped into the system. This cost me $75 for each call plus the cost of the refrigerant. The 3rd time, they fixed a valve and refilled the refrigerant and I am monitoring to see if this really fixed the problem. So I am out $225 for service calls fro the same problem and the cost of the refrigerant. I think they take this approach intentionally."

In a pinch, you can use baking soda to raise the hot tub’s alkalinity. Raising the alkalinity will prevent the hot tub water from becoming too acidic.

When your hot tub is not in use, you can keep it at a constant soaking temperature of around 100 degrees Fahrenheit. For extended periods of non-use, you can lower the temperature by about five degrees. This slight decrease makes it easier and quicker to heat back up to a desirable level when you're ready to use it again. Additionally, you might consider lowering the temperature by a couple of degrees during the summer to avoid feeling overheated.

The dirty water will then circulate through the filter and back into the hot tub, leading to dirty water, a damaged pump and jets, and low heat. You’ll know you need to replace the pump in your hot tub if you hear loud or unusual noises when the machine is running or notice a significant decrease in water pressure. A leak or altogether failure of the hot tub may also indicate a problem with the pump, but you’ll need a professional to investigate the source of the issue.
