Regarding the casement sash, as it turns out, it had been redesigned by the Mfg and the first Hometown install team indicated it would need to either go back or require a custom retrofit. The casement windows are approx 18 yrs old. About a week later I received a call from Hometown that the window would only need a new type of weather strip and that would solve the issue with the design change. I had asked the first team to make sure I could get the sash ahead of time before the install, in order for me to prime and paint the interior portion. Unfortunately, that communication didn't take place and I never was able to pre-finish the sash. As it urns out when the weather stripping finally did arrive for the sash, a different team came out, to install the 2 windows without scaffolding and I raised a concern when I asked this. However, the 2nd team said it wasn't necessary and was able to easily fit the bay window glass in place and indicated the initial team should have done earlier when the bay window was available and I was waiting for the new weather stripping. All in all the work done was good and the 2 windows are now in place. I'm waiting for the first very cold day to confirm the casement is sealing properly. I'm sure if I do have an issue, HomeTown will help find a solution. I think this was just a case of miscommunication by the initial team of installers and their office "},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/wi/beaver-dam/hometown-glass-and-improvements%2C-inc-reviews-7985922.htm"},"position":5},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Artisan Construction","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"WI","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Jean W."},"reviewBody":"Talked to Neil on the phone the night before, he said he was looking forward to doing the work...very good sign I had a winner! Neil got there about 5 minutes before he was supposed to be there. He asked me what I wanted to do first, which was the gutters. He got right to work, cleaning and then putting on the gutter caps. He mitered the corners of the gutter caps also, making it a very neat appearance! I was concerned about the downspouts being clear and he made sure downspouts worked. I gave him a list for the rest of the things and right down the line he did them: re-attached mailbox to pole, installed bird feeder pole, hung 2 pictures, replaced furnace filter, replaced water filter in basement, replaced broken toilet seat, fixed pull out drawer in kitchen, took out middle console on front seat of car & replaced with another console. I gingerly asked him if he would/could do them, but he did not refuse anything I asked him to fix, knew how!! Neil was amazing! There wasn't anything he could not do that I asked, he was very courteous, listened to what I needed. I gave him the things to replace, but had supplies I didn't have (i.e. wall anchors, etc). He also was very reasonable, I was happy, and he was worth every penny!! I even gave him an electric scooter that needed a tune up to take home and look at, he will look at it and give me an estimate on repairs.

He was more than willing to work with us, he built in a wall cabinet I had repurposed and installed decorative talavera tile and sink I provided. He brought in the electrician and plumber without any delay for both the initial rough installation and the final finish work and he worked with the tile setter, who was unbelievably particular. All the work turned out beautifully. The few snags he ran into (this is a 100+ year old house) he took care of immediately and well. The only minor downside was he was somewhat optimistic as to when he could start so it all began somewhat later than we initially thought. We were not under any deadline so it was not an issue. Throughout the entire project everything was kept as contained as humanly possible. I was expecting a much bigger 'mess' as the house is so old and it's all plaster. Even having to have the wet tile saw inside the house because of the frigid temps was not a problem. The entire project took 3 weeks to complete which I didn't think was excessive at all considering it was taken down to the studs and subfloor and an entire doorway was moved over. Chuck on two occasions forgot my situation and why I wanted him there. He yelled at me when I asked him questions and when I told him that I did not like the look of the repairs he was recommending and was wondering if there was an alternate method. He said that I seem to think I know it all alreay and obviously dont want his opinion and threatened to leave. At the start of his evaluation he said that the repairs needed were not all that extensive then after talking with a contractor in the basement privately he changed his approach and added a lot more repairs to his report. He then went behind my back and disclosed information to the seller that was supposed to be between him and I since I hired and paid him. He also convinced the seller that he is the only non-biased person in the area capable of performing a drain tile test which is untrue. I found 3 other Home inspection outfits who are not associated with contractors that were qualified and capable to perform the test for half the cost he wanted to charge me. I now walked away from the home my family and I have been looking two years to find and fell in love with. It was a huge mistake hiring Chuck Weber. He is not an engineer as I was lead to believe nor has he ever worked on a basement foundation in his carreer as far as I know. His whole business is presenting plans that he found on the Wisconsin Assocation of Foundation Repair Proffessionals website which anyone can look up and print out themselves for free! How he has been in able to get away with this for as long as he has beyond me. If you are looking for expert advice do yourself a favor and hire a REAL expert. FAQs for sink repair projects in Wonewoc, WI
The average cost to hire a handyman ranges from about $40 to $140 per hour. Average project cost ranges between $180 and $700, but the cost per hour and per project depends heavily on the type, size, and complexity of the project. Yes, most states require plumbers to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
The average cost to unclog a drain is around $200, with prices ranging between $110 and $800, depending on the type of drain and the extent of the clog. Yes, you should hire a handyman who’s licensed, certified, and insured, if possible. States have different requirements for handyman licensing, registration, and certifications. If licensing is required in your area, you may pay more for a licensed handyman with experience than one who is not licensed or certified, but you’re likely to get a better end result for your project. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local handymen guidelines.
