"JBS was great to work. Was quick to answer our question and gave us exactly what we were looking for. We had 5 quotes done before this company and we became extremely frustrated. Our new driveway and patio look amazing."

Customers say: Super punctual

"Roberto and his team did a thorough job landscaping my lawn. They put in walkway borders, a retainer wall, and seeded my lawn. They took an extra step to do a good job every time. I was so impressed. And his prices were so reasonable. I appreciated Roberto getting my opinion a couple of times throughout the job to make sure I was happy with the progress. Highly recommended!!"

"My house came a non-functioning water feature in the backyard, installed by the previous owner. Over the years, I had always intended to remove it but kept putting it off and mowing around it. Fast forward to now and I am getting ready to sell the house, thinking I should finally get rid of that overgrown eyesore. Within minutes of submitting my project to Angi, Oasis Lawncare gave me a call. The next evening I had a very reasonably priced quote in hand for removing the water feature, plus additional curb appeal work. Four days before the work was scheduled to begin, we got two feet of snow -- one last mid-March storm to close out the winter. I thought for sure Oasis would request to delay, but nope: They came out on the scheduled day, worked through any remaining snow, and did a fantastic job. The job was completed on time and at the quoted price. So grateful to Oasis Lawncare's amazing crew. I would 100% hire them for any future landscaping projects."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

To maintain their strength, asphalt driveways and parking lots need to be sealcoated once every two to five years. You may also need to reapply paint striping every few years as it fades to ensure drivers can safely navigate the parking lot.

Recycled asphalt is not better than gravel, but can be a good alternative. It is inexpensive, but not as low-cost as gravel, and doesn’t tend to last as long. Recycled asphalt isn’t as dusty as gravel and is more environmentally friendly. The black look can be something that homeowners prefer. No matter what, ensure you choose an experienced recycled asphalt contractor.

The choice between asphalt and concrete depends on your priorities, budget, and climate.

Concrete is generally more durable, lasting up to 50 years with minimal upkeep, and offers more customization options like staining and stamping, which can add more to a home's value. However, it is more expensive upfront and can be prone to cracking in cold climates where water can freeze and expand.

Asphalt is typically cheaper and quicker to install and is easier to repair. It performs better in colder climates. However, it requires more maintenance, including regular resealing, has a shorter lifespan, and can get hot and sticky in intense sunlight.

Ultimately, if durability and long-term value are key, concrete is often the better choice. If upfront cost and performance in cold weather are more important, asphalt may be preferable.

An asphalt overlay or top coat costs between $3 and $7 per square foot. For a standard, single-car driveway that’s 10 feet wide and 20 feet long, that’s a total of between $600 and $1,400. For a two-car driveway, you’re looking at a total of between $1,200 and $3,000.

New asphalt goes through two stages: drying and curing. Drying typically takes 24 to 72 hours, after which the surface is solid enough for light use like walking or careful driving. While you may be able to park on it after 72 hours, the surface is still soft and should be treated gently. Full curing is a much longer process, taking anywhere from 30 days to a full year for the asphalt to reach maximum strength. During this extended curing period, the asphalt is susceptible to damage from heavy vehicles, sharp objects, and high temperatures. Factors like weather, the specific asphalt mix, and application thickness all influence drying and curing times. For the most accurate timeline and to ensure the longevity of your new asphalt, it is always best to consult with your installation contractor for their specific recommendations.
