"I sent a request through Home Advisor, and Al called me the same day. He came right out and we discussed my small-to-him/huge-to-me project of a gravel base for my new utility shed. With some very good suggestions I now have installed a very nice looking landscaped gravel pad. Thanks again Al."

Small jobs welcome

"My hunting land needed stumps, trees and brush removed and a trail system created. Evan came out and walked the 90 acres with me. I explained what my ideas were for improving the hunting on the property. He did make some recommendations for the land and repairs to the pond. He had improvements on other properties, which worked well his customers. I gave him my budget and he believed he would be in budget. Some issues come up on my side and they were very willing to work me get it done. My hunting party and I are very happy with the work done. My 76 yr old father in law and friend that had a stroke can easily navigate for hunting. They worked long days due to a rain delay. This was to stay on the work schedule for the next customer. I would HIGHLY recommend Evan and Josh for rotary head and high hoe work. My neighbors and I have another project we are planning for the next year. I wanted to load photos of the work done, but the app will not let me."

"Needed a roof in place on short notice. Mike and his crew were able to get this done on time. I was impressed with the efficiency of the work. They were able to get this done in 1 day. Also, the price as compared to other contractors was comparable. I would recommend Mike and his crew."

"After being let down numerous times by a company that kept promising to start a project for 3 weeks, I reached out to Total Ground Solutions. It was a risk, but as soon as I talked with Cooper, I felt very comfortable. He came to see the area, made some excellent suggestions, and I knew he was a great fit. He was great at communicating, easy to work with and did everything when promised and above expectations. He did an amazing job and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company!!"

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

The least expensive basement waterproofing methods include grading soil away from your home, installing downspout extenders on your gutter system, and applying a waterproof paint on the interior of the foundation walls. Installing a French drain is a relatively inexpensive method if you do the work yourself, although it’s labor-intensive and can be challenging to install properly.

If the time has come to install a French drain in your yard, basement, or crawl space, there's a solid chance you've been battling water damage—or the threat of water damage—around these areas. Thankfully, proper drainage should allow you to redesign these areas of your home without the fear of being inundated during the next storm. If you've had to remove a portion of your lawn for an exterior French or curtain drain, consider reseeding your lawn to patch up the spot. You can also take this opportunity to enhance your foundation waterproofing methods or even start thinking about finishing your basement .

If you hire a professional, installing a new sewage ejector pump costs $850 to $3,500, or an average of $2,300. Otherwise, if you handle the installation yourself, you can expect to pay $500 to $1,000 for the sewage ejector pump, permits, and other supplies required for this DIY project.

Methods include interior sealants, exterior excavation and waterproofing membranes, sump pump installation, and vapor barriers for encapsulation. Techniques vary based on the structure and severity of moisture issues.

You can DIY basement waterproofing in some ways to help save on the overall costs. If your basement isn’t experiencing a lot of water but is noticeably humid, you can try running a dehumidifier that will pull the excess water out of the air. If you notice water leaking due to outdoor drainage issues, you can add downspout extensions to keep rainwater away from your home.

However, if the problem is more severe and requires a more extensive solution, it’s best to call a basement waterproofing professional to assess the treatment you need and install waterproofing safeguards properly. Since keeping water out of your basement is important, ensuring this job is done correctly the first time is best.
