The job turned out to be much tougher than expected—the old cement was nearly impossible to break up and the clay ground was hard to dig deeper for the required dept —but Ken handled it like a pro, using a jackhammer and digging through hard clay soil without complaint. Despite the extra work and materials needed, he stuck to his original price even when I asked to pay him more, which speaks volumes about his integrity. He returned a few days later to assemble the hoop, and the final result was perfect—every measurement was spot-on. Ken went above and beyond, and I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again. Based on that, we signed a contract. But during the plan review, the project manager said none of that was included and even claimed he?d never heard of it. We were told Matrix doesn't clean, doesn?t tape, and won?t touch any wiring. We'd have to prep everything ourselves?or live with overspray and debris being painted over. I asked to cancel the contract, but Matrix stopped responding. Now we?re stuck with an open contract, out a down payment, and no work done. They won?t reply or resolve it. Avoid Matrix Basements if you want honest, reliable service."
