"Josh has been our pest guy for years.  He is very professional and prompt. He always gives us the 411 on how his trip went at the house as far as activity goes and different ways to improve if something is not working well for us.  We live in the woods and we are going to have bugs and other unwanted creatures.  I wouldn't use any other company and would highly recommend Safeway Pest Control.

"We have a contract with Final Conflict Pest Management for outdoor pest control service. The technician, is very thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. They've always been reliable, dependable and their communication has always been very good. I get reminder emails saying it is time for the service and they always call beforehand and give an estimated time. They also call before they come, so I don't have to wait around forever. They do what they say they are going to do without hassle or pushy attempts to sell additional/unnecessary services. I will highly recommend them."

"They did a great job. They solved all the problems I had with the chimney and it’s been working perfectly ever since. They also fixed a problem on the roof around the chimney; they replaced the wood around the chimney with a material that would never rot, so they fixed it even better than it was before. It took them a couple of days to do the work. They took care of all the cleanup as well. We've been real happy with them."

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

It is possible, though unlikely, that a home insurance policy will help cover the costs of professional bat removal. However, some policies will chip in for guano removal and associated repairs, such as replacing drywall. Take some time to read the fine print of your homeowner’s insurance policy and call your provider to inquire about bat removal, guano removal, and related repairs.

Rabbits face a range of formidable adversaries in rural and suburban areas. Natural predators such as hawks, foxes, bobcats, raccoons, coyotes, and weasels pose significant threats to their survival. These skilled hunters target bunnies for food, contributing to regulating rabbit populations. Outdoor housepets can be enemies, too, particularly dogs and cats. And loud little humans playing in your yard make great rabbit deterrents, too.

It can be difficult to know what type of animal is in your attic until you see it. But several clues can help you narrow down the suspects:

  • Sounds: Smaller animals like rats and mice make scurrying and tapping/gnawing sounds. Larger animals like raccoons and opossums make louder clambering noises. Also, note when animals are noisy: Squirrels are active during the day, while rats are busiest at night.

  • Droppings: Rats and mice leave small, rice-shaped droppings (the rat’s version is significantly larger). Bigger droppings belong to larger critters like raccoons. As long as you’re not squeamish, an image search can help you identify what you’re seeing in your attic.

When in doubt, take photos of damage or other evidence and show them to an experienced pest control pro.

Finding a dead bat in your home can be frightening, even during spooky season. The United States Department of Interior states that if you find a dead bat, take these steps:

  • Contact your state wildlife agency to report the finding

  • Photograph the bat safely to help the wildlife agency determine the species

  • Use disposable gloves to place the bat into a plastic bag, making sure to spray with disinfectant and close the bag securely

  • Thoroughly clean your hands and any clothing that came into contact with the bat

If you see one dead bat, you might have a large bat infestation that needs to be treated immediately. Call a local pest control company to properly inspect your home for other bats.

Some animals, such as bats or birds, will be able to get out of chimneys on their own since they can fly. Other animals, however, may have a harder time and will require the help of a professional to escape. Squirrels and raccoons in particular may become stuck inside a chimney, especially if you have a buildup of soot or creosote inside. This can prevent them from being able to climb out, in which case you’ll need to call an animal control expert to help remove them.
