"Rainbow painting did an excellent job on our project! George was here every day and was very easy to work with. The crew was very professional and did high quality work. Nick and his wife came back for final touch ups to make sure everything was completed to our satisfaction. We are very pleased with how the condominiums and decks turned out."

"Brian did a wonderful job. He power washed the exterior of our home, painted the garage door and our porch floor and ceiling. Brian was very professional and cleaned everything up after the job was completed. The job was done in a timely manner and Brian stands behind his work. My husband and I will definitely call Brian for additional jobs in the future."

"Culver's painting did a great job. They had the fence completed in one day with a crew of 4. We needed them to come back to do some touch up staining that they had missed, and they were back within a week to complete the job. I would definitely hire them again."

Customers say: True professional

"Noah’s work was excellent. He was careful, thorough and conscientious. His painting of our house was perfectly done. He went above and beyond and repaired some damage done to joists and sills, etc. He’s a real find and we’re sure to call him again for repairs and other projects. We’ve recommended him to our friends."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

If your biggest concern is making sure your deck doesn’t show dirt, opt for a darker neutral color that blends in well with your surrounding landscape. A rich brown or dark grey are both good options that work with a variety of house colors. A high-quality acrylic paint is easy to clean and maintain, so it might be worth spending the money on.

Waterproof paint creates a barrier to hold back moisture, but it doesn’t eliminate the source of the water. If you hire a basement waterproofing contractor, many will tell you that waterproof paint is only a temporary solution. On average, you can expect it to last from six months to two years in a wet basement before deteriorating.

A wood deck requires annual cleaning and regular inspections for loose or broken boards, nails, and screws. It should be refinished by applying a stain or sealer every two to three years to protect the wood from water damage, rot, mildew, and sun fading. The exact frequency can depend on the climate and the deck's exposure to sun and moisture. If your deck is painted, it will need repainting approximately every 10 years. Signs that your deck needs refinishing include faded, splintering, or warping boards.

A properly applied coat of stain will last between 3 and 8 years, depending on your climate. If you live in a place where your fence experiences a lot of moisture or high heat, your stain will last for a shorter period than in more temperate conditions. We recommend reapplying stain every 3 to 5 years to keep your wood in good condition.

Satin paint is generally considered a better choice for woodwork—including trim, baseboards, cabinets, and doors—than flatter finishes like eggshell or matte. Its soft sheen enhances architectural details and stands up well to frequent cleaning and daily wear. Compared to eggshell and matte finishes, satin is more durable for high-touch areas because it is less porous and doesn't absorb dirt as easily. Matte finishes, in particular, are prone to scuffs and are harder to clean, making them less practical for surfaces like doors and cabinets.
