"Rainbow painting did an excellent job on our project! George was here every day and was very easy to work with. The crew was very professional and did high quality work. Nick and his wife came back for final touch ups to make sure everything was completed to our satisfaction. We are very pleased with how the condominiums and decks turned out."

Customers say: Quick response

"I needed my entire house and deck restained - i have a large cedar ranch. Ramon was super responsive, quoted a fair price and was able to commit to my time frame, which was pretty tight. His work was better than i hoped for, and he went out of his way to make sure that i was happy with the end result, even though the house needed a little TLC on the way. He and Branden were a joy to have around the house, always cleaned up after themselves, were prompt, worked super hard and finished early. I recommend Ramon without hesitation"

"Exceptional well, the crew, Pedro, Felipe and Christian arrived on time everyday and worked very well together. They left little to no mess and cleaned up anything that was missed, clean drop clothes used and plastic covering all the furniture. We had some stains on the ceiling which they took care of, repaired and caulked what needed to be caulked, and carefully covered some of the most awful colors left by previous owners. A job well down and I would recommend Culvers and this crew to anyone that asks. The owners Alex and Josh stayed in contact to ensure we had no problems and to deliver some items that were needed, a dedicated company."

"Shared with Public - Home Advisor Culver's Painting recommendation Josh and Alex at Culver's Painting were great and easy to work with. We had a husband and wife team, Javi and Griselda, stain our cedar siding and shutters, and they did an excellent job! Absolutely no complaints at all. They were detail oriented and we would highly recommend Culver's if you have any painting project. We love our new look!"

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Liquid rubber is great for waterproofing, but it can damage your deck if it’s not applied correctly. First, it can trap moisture in the wood if the deck isn’t completely dry before application.  Second, applying it too thickly can create a heavy, rubbery surface layer that peels and cracks under fluctuating temperatures. For the best results, ensure the wood is completely dry before application, and apply the liquid rubber in thin, even coats. A quick inspection every now and then will help you catch any issues early, keeping your deck protected and looking its best.

Limewash and whitewash do not harm surfaces if you apply them correctly. Use on non-suitable surfaces can cause issues. For instance, applying limewash or whitewash to surfaces with existing sealants or incompatible materials may lead to poor adhesion or flaking. Also, harsh cleaning agents on limewashed or whitewashed surfaces can damage the finish. Proper preparation, application, and maintenance ensure that limewash and whitewash do not harm surfaces.

Constant exposure to inclement weather conditions can damage your deck, causing it to fade, warp, or crack over time. Regular maintenance keeps it looking and performing its best. That means giving it a good cleaning and applying a quality sealant or wood treatment to help defend against moisture, sun damage, and everyday wear.

It’s best to use an exterior latex acrylic paint to promote maximum adhesion to composite decking. This flexible paint type can better cope with the natural expansion and contraction that can occur with composite deck boards. Oil-based paints won’t adhere as effectively and are more likely to crack and peel as the boards flex. Testing whether your chosen paint will stick on an inconspicuous section or a spare board is a good idea.

Ultimately, overapplication of stain can compromise the deck's appearance, durability, and longevity. It may result in an uneven finish, with excess stain pooling, dripping, or drying into thick patches. It can also obscure the wood's natural grain and texture, detracting from the desired aesthetic. Moreover, excessive staining may not fully penetrate the wood, leading to poor adhesion and premature wear. Additionally, thick layers of stain are prone to peeling, cracking, and blistering as they struggle to bond with the surface.
