SERVING SOUTHERN WISCONSIN AND THE FOX VALLEY AREAS Kool View began business in 1973 selling glass coatings to save energy and stop furniture fading. In 1979 we were awarded a US. Department of Energy grant to study the "honeycomb" concept of window insulation. In 1982 we were granted a patent on our very own "Seal-A-Shade" product. We also began selling passive solar rooms. Over time passive solar sunrooms became our main product. We have built over 2000 sun room, patio room and room additions. Our construction focus has always been saving energy, improving the home environment and adding long term value to your home. If you have a unique design in mind or a challenging job site you have come to the right place! With with our trained staff of designers and craftsmen, Kool View is in the position to make your dream room an energy efficient reality. Kool View offers you the best of the "High Tech" corporate world while remaining a locally owned and operated business. We never forget that our customers are also our neighbors. "The final product is good and the price was good. The structure all seems to be high quality and with double pane windows it can hold the climate or out well as needed. With screens all around we can let the air move through when we want. The design process was a good experience, but we were not warned that our decisions in dimensions would result in difficulties with regulations and the electrical work. The lack of communication between sub-contractors during the process resulted in several delays. There were times when we were told there would be hand-off and it didn't happen until we prodded them. We kicked it off in the early spring and it didn't complete until August. Early on, the delays were unavoidable due to weather and ground conditions but after the foundation was in it took to long to complete the structure. The problem is not specifically the total time to complete but being left with very little time to replace the yard and driveway before winter."

Window Tinting questions, answered by experts

Home window tinting is usually worth the investment because it reduces the amount of solar heat that enters through your window glass, thereby reducing the cost of cooling your home in the warmer months. Over the lifespan of your tinted windows, your electric bill savings will likely total more than you spend on your window tinting. Additionally, tinting protects your floors and furniture from harmful UV rays from the sun, so the window tint can extend the life of those items, saving you money over time. Lastly, tinting adds to your home's privacy and can help increase security.

Tinting your windows can be more energy-efficient, allowing your home to better block out the sun’s heat in warmer months and retain heat in the cooler months. It also blocks harmful UV rays, keeping your family and pets safe from sun damage. Tinting windows keeps your furniture color from fading in the sun, as well.

Window tinting also makes it more difficult for passersby to see in your windows, giving you better privacy. Some window films and tinted glass options even help your windows better withstand trauma and avoid cracking from any attempted break-ins or bad weather.

Some frosted glass sprays can handle the outdoors, but most of them aren't built for it. Sprays made for exterior use will say so clearly on the label. Anything marked “interior use only” can't hold up against rain, UV exposure, or changing temperatures without peeling, fading, or yellowing. Outdoor-rated sprays are typically more durable, but even then, proper prep and application matter. Before spraying anything outside, double-check the product instructions. If it doesn’t specifically mention exterior use, skip it.

Whether window film is better depends on individual preferences and specific needs. In some instances, window film can be much less costly to install. Aesthetics is also a deciding factor. Window film may have a more significant appeal for design minimalists looking for a clean and streamlined look without the heaviness that comes with curtains. On the flip side, they can also appeal to design maximalists looking for creative expression in the form of color, patterns, and texture. Choosing between window film and traditional window coverings depends on factors like desired functionality, aesthetics, and personal preferences.

The most popular way to remove home window tint is by using a hairdryer. Most people already have one in their home, but if you don’t, you can buy one for as little as $15. All you need to do is turn the hairdryer to its hottest and highest setting and run it over the window tint for a few minutes. Then, you can easily peel it away. You may need some goo remover for any leftover adhesive, but this DIY could be free for many people.
