"After another installer didn't show up for a couple months we reached out to Cesar and Top Bros. He was knowledgeable, quick response and had somebody out measuring within three days. Two days later we had our beautiful island countertop. Very thankful!"

We totally trust them and we would recommend them to anybody. We have recommended them to friends and family who have had the same experience"

"Very professional start to finish. Received a quick detailed estimate, and scheduling and service were also very promptà ¢à  à ¦speedy in fact. Our countertops look fabulous, exceeding expectations. Ità ¢à  à  s difficult to find someone to do this work, and I had my doubts about using a company I found on the internet. But we are so glad we took the chance on Surface Link because they did a perfect job. It is Hard to find a contractor we can say that about todayà ¢à  à ¦. We are often disappointed. Not with this company. Or this technician (Steve ) who is a pro at this. Time will tell, but as of today, we are thrilled."

"While the prices are slightly higher than I thought they would be and a little more than I wanted, it comes out to very close to $23 sq. ft. when done. I wish they had a blue option for the counters but we're happy with the color we went with. The price makes then the same as doing new laminate with installation, but our 70's old laminate curves up in the back so we would have had to do cutting and that makes whole new much more expensive in labor, so this as a great alternative and in the 70's they actually used very good sub wood and they've held up fantastic over the years, so we went with resurfacing which is like fiberglass but without using a cloth in the middle of the resin urethane layers, so very tough and will look great for 25 yr.s plus. will take heat and heavy objects and the punishment of children and pets lol. We have old venetian marbles bathroom vanity and tub walls that we did new resurfacing coatings on and they even patched old chemical erosion on the counters and angies list gets you free anti slip tub upgrade that costs $80 normally. So a nice bonus.

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

The frequency for sealing marble countertops depends on several factors, including the quality and color of the stone, the type of sealant used, and the amount of traffic the surface receives. Marble has a porous surface that requires sealing to maintain its shine and resist scratches. As a general rule, you should seal countertops at least once a year. However, for heavily used surfaces, like those in a busy kitchen or family bathroom, you may need to reseal them every three to six months. Conversely, countertops in a rarely used guest bathroom might only need resealing every few years.

Both quartz and granite are durable, long-lasting countertop materials that can last for decades, potentially the lifetime of your kitchen, with proper maintenance. Quartz is generally considered more durable than granite due to its nonporous nature. However, it can be damaged by extreme heat. Granite is also very durable but is a porous material that requires regular resealing to extend its lifespan and prevent stains. On the other hand, granite is more resistant to heat than quartz.

Granite is one of the most popular options for countertops, and most homeowners believe that granite countertops are worth the money. Granite is more affordable than marble and quartz, and provides outstanding durability and longevity. Granite countertops are also desirable because they are entirely unique; unlike some other countertop materials, your granite slab won’t be identical to any others. Granite is porous, which means it has the potential to stain if you don’t clean up spills quickly, but the general durability and relatively low cost make it well worth the investment.

Granite countertops cost an average of $3,250 compared to $2,250 for tile countertops. Granite is also harder to DIY than tile, given its weight and bulk, which increases the overall labor cost of installation. Over time, both types of countertops may need sealing to remain resistant to water, heat, and other common kitchen elements.

Yes, onyx countertops can scratch easily—especially if they’re not adequately sealed. But with the proper maintenance (which includes re-sealing the countertops to protect them from damage), you can prevent your onyx countertops from scratching and repair any damage quickly to prevent it from worsening.
