"Friendly, prompt service at a great price. We had an old piano removed (and a few other things they were willing to take) and they got the job done in no time. I was also able to get this done within just a couple of days from the time I searched for options. Very pleased and will be keeping them in mind for anything I need hauled away in the future."

"They gave what I believe to be a fair quote for the work. They were flexible with changes I made to the job at the time of hire and the cost reflected those changes. They started the job of clearing my chain link fence line ahead of schedule, even clearing vines they previously said they would not be able to do. The entire crew worked quickly, cleaned up (even my own brush pile) and were done within a few hours. I hope to have them back out to address other trees on my property in the Fall."

"Hanson's Lawn Maintenance did a fantastic job cleaning up a very overgrown property. They got rid of all the weeds, removed all the brush and mowed. They were very flexible with the time and reasonably priced. I will hire them again, and I highly recommend Hansons."

Small jobs welcome

"Very easy to work with, friendly, helpful, professional. Very reasonably priced. We had them drop 15 trees and they were very good at dropping them were they wanted them to land. We highly recommend them and will use their services again if needed."

"Personable, efficient, and exceeded expectations in trimming conifer and maple branches. They were able to provide very timely service, listened to what was required and followed our instructions, were conscientious about not damaging other ground plants in the area, and even cleaned up so well that they cleared out home gutters that had filled with conifer-tree debris from the cutting. Very reasonably priced and efficient in their work. Will definitely recommend their service to others and use K&A Tree Service again in the future."

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

You will find a collection of licensed land surveyors in your area. Your real estate agent or construction manager may also be able to recommend a trusted professional. When speaking with prospective pros in your area, ask the land surveyor if they are licensed in the state, have liability insurance, and can quote you a fee before starting.

Depending on the type of land survey, the report will mark the boundaries of your property, the topographical changes of the landscape, as well as major natural and added structures to the plot. A more detailed survey, like an as-built survey, will note the measurements of the structures and landscape following major construction. A topographic survey will also help your contractor determine the cost of land development projects.

The small lines on the tape measure either indicate inches, fractions of an inch, or centimeters and millimeters. On the imperial unit side (aka the inches side), the longest lines indicate inches, followed by the next shortest lines that indicate a half-inch, and then the quarter, eighth, and sixteenth-inch. On the metric side, the lines break down meters, centimeters, and millimeters.

If you’re planning to dig on your property, you’ll need to check for underground utility lines. Call the national call-before-you-dig 811 number. Once connected to an operator, you can schedule a site visit to mark underground lines. This way, you won’t accidentally dig into pipes and can cause major (read: costly) issues.

If you can’t find any records online, you’ll need to contact your county clerk’s office to do further research. They should have property records on file, or can at least point you in the right direction of who to contact. You can also speak with your neighbors about when their houses were built because they were likely built around the same time.
