"I cannot be more pleased with the quality of work done by Josh and his team. We just purchased a loft condo where the previous owner painted each wall different colors. Though that worked for their lifestyle, I wanted things a bit more subdued. Matt was very kind and helpful in making a color choice. Josh and his team were able to start much sooner then originally planned for so they were in the middle of painting on the same day we scheduled movers. They had things at a point were the movers could move in our large items and they very adeptly moved around everything. This was a very difficult job due to the need to paint the ceiling and it was completed in a week as promised. We were in and out of the loft many times and I was very comfortable leaving our home in their hands. I have to say I missed the team on Saturday as it was our first day without them in our home. I was also impressed that Mario came back on Monday to any touch-ups. A great experience and I would highly recommend Josh and CertaPro based on my experience with them. Fenrich Custom Finishes LLC is a small business servicing Sheboygan County and the surrounding area. We are a 2-3 person crew. After the initial phone call, Paul Fenrich, the business owner will schedule a time to come and visit the job for an estimate. The estimate will then be completed in a timely matter and communicated by e-mail or USPS. Arrangements will be made according to schedule availability. A down payment of approximately 50% is expected before work begins. This secures the dates for you (weather permitting). The remaining bill is due upon completion after final invoice. To remove adhesive-backed wallpaper, you’ll need to soften the adhesive before you try peeling the wallpaper off the walls. You may wonder whether peel-and-stick wallpaper damages walls. It can depend on the removal method. Make sure to be patient and consider using a steamer, hair dryer, or adhesive remover to carefully take down adhesive-backed wallpaper.

To remove pre-pasted wallpaper, you’ll need to wet the wallpaper or steam it to loosen the paste on the back of the wallpaper. Spray the paper with water, then let it soak for 10 to 20 minutes. From there, you should be able to peel off the wallpaper. Then, you may need to follow up with a cleaning solution and a scraper to remove any remaining wallpaper paste on the walls.

Limewash can be removed from brick, but the method of removal will depend on how long the limewash has been on the brick. If the limewash has fully dried—which happens after about five days—you’ll need to use a diluted muriatic acid mixture to remove it. If there are multiple coats of limewash, you may need to apply the acid mixture several times to fully remove it from the brick.

Removing a wallpaper border requires the same process to remove full walls of wallpaper. Clear the area, spray down the surface with your hot water and vinegar solution or store-bought spray, wait 10 to 15 minutes, then scrape it off with a putty knife. Sometimes, border wallpaper lifts easier than larger sheets, so you can just peel it right off the wall by hand.

While it is possible to paint over wallpaper, it’s not always ideal. If the wallpaper is firmly adhered, has no bubbling or peeling, and isn’t textured, you can try to prime and paint over it. Use an oil-based primer to prevent the adhesive from bleeding through. However, if the paper is damaged or loose, removal is the better long-term solution.
