he was very courteous, listened to what I needed. I gave him the things to replace, but had supplies I didn't have (i.e. wall anchors, etc). He also was very reasonable, I was happy, and he was worth every penny!! I even gave him an electric scooter that needed a tune up to take home and look at, he will look at it and give me an estimate on repairs.

We hired Advantage Contractors for exterior siding and trim repairs on our buildings. The owner, Mike Cook, did an inspection and gave us a list of repairs that he thought needed to be done, along with an estimate. The HOA approved the work to be done, and the work started a few days later. As the work progressed, we had to spend several thousand dollars more than the original estimate for "change orders", to repair damage that was beyond what was expected in some areas where the siding was rotten. This in itself would have been somewhat understandable and acceptable, except they over estimated and overcharged on the linear feet of siding used for some of the repairs. Furthermore, after they said they were finished with the entire project, I did a walk around to see if everything had been completed, but there were several repairs that were on the list, but had NOT been done. Unfortunately, I was unable to convey this information immediately to Advantage Contractors, so when we didn't pay the final invoice the owner, Mike Cook got mad at me! This was even though it was his list of repairs, that he created, but his crew did not follow. He eventually did another inspection and admitted that some of the repairs were not done, but after sending another crew out it still was not all done. To top it off, they refused to paint the repaired areas, claiming that it wasn't in the contract, even though they had always painted repairs that they had done for us on previous jobs. They also flat out lied about replacing water damaged sheet rock behind the siding, when I could see from the inside that it had not been replaced. In the end the HOA decided to pay the final invoice just to be done with them, even though we had to hire another contractor to finish the job. The best words to describe Advantage Contractors: Dishonest. Inconsiderate. Scam. NOT customer service oriented. Rip off. Chuck on two occasions forgot my situation and why I wanted him there. He yelled at me when I asked him questions and when I told him that I did not like the look of the repairs he was recommending and was wondering if there was an alternate method. He said that I seem to think I know it all alreay and obviously dont want his opinion and threatened to leave. At the start of his evaluation he said that the repairs needed were not all that extensive then after talking with a contractor in the basement privately he changed his approach and added a lot more repairs to his report. He then went behind my back and disclosed information to the seller that was supposed to be between him and I since I hired and paid him. He also convinced the seller that he is the only non-biased person in the area capable of performing a drain tile test which is untrue. I found 3 other Home inspection outfits who are not associated with contractors that were qualified and capable to perform the test for half the cost he wanted to charge me. I now walked away from the home my family and I have been looking two years to find and fell in love with. It was a huge mistake hiring Chuck Weber. He is not an engineer as I was lead to believe nor has he ever worked on a basement foundation in his carreer as far as I know. His whole business is presenting plans that he found on the Wisconsin Assocation of Foundation Repair Proffessionals website which anyone can look up and print out themselves for free! How he has been in able to get away with this for as long as he has beyond me. If you are looking for expert advice do yourself a favor and hire a REAL expert. Leather and Vinyl Repair questions, answered by experts
Porcelain and ceramic tile are two of the longest-lasting kitchen flooring materials. However, while these materials can withstand a good amount of daily wear and tear, they’re likely to crack if you drop something heavy on them, and they’re pricier than many other options. On average, installing a ceramic tile kitchen floor costs between $1,240 and $11,250. Other durable kitchen flooring options include natural stone and concrete.
If you are ready to work on replacing floorboards but discover that your hardwood floor type has been discontinued, there are some options. You can get a piece of unfinished wood in the same wood type and thickness and stain it yourself. Also, consider contacting the manufacturer to see what similar products they may have in their product line that may work for you. Otherwise, you can contact a speciality company to customize exactly what you need.
As you look for quotes for flooring repair, consider how the severity of the problem and the accessibility of the damage will impact your costs and budget.
Refinishing a few hardwood planks with minor scratches will cost thousands of dollars less than completely replacing an entire water-damaged floor. Likewise, a first-floor structural problem in a house with an unfinished basement is easy to access from below, while a similar issue on a second-story floor will require your flooring pro to remove several layers to get to the damage.
Yes, professionals aim to match the existing material and pattern as closely as possible to ensure a seamless look.
It depends on the reason for the sagging floors, but since sagging floors are usually a sign of foundation damage that you could have avoided, chances are your homeowners insurance policy will not cover the necessary repairs. Not only that, but your provider likely won’t cover the actual foundation damage that is causing the issue either, as it’s considered an avoidable type of damage, and negligence isn’t covered by most insurers.
