Our garage door was not closing due to problems with unbalanced springs. I called the office, and John scheduled the service for the afternoon on the same day. Alex, the technician, arrived on time, checked the system, and provided a cost estimate. The cost estimate was very reasonable, so I didn't seek estimates from other companies. Alex was very professional and gave me a thorough explanation of the garage door system. Thank you, Alex, for a great service and answering my questions patiently.

NSGD quickly replaced our garage door in less than a week. Our original garage door used suicide springs, and the pullies broke, so we could not open the door. They entirely replaced everything and used the more modern tension springs. We feel much safer and have a more insulated door. Well worth the money spent.

I hired north shore garage doors to remove my ceiling chamberlain smart system and upgrade to a wall mount unit. I got mix quote from rep over the phone and tech on-site for installing torsion conversation. And at the end of installation, I asked for assistance with activating myQ system just like I had it on my previous unit. Tech had no experience about myQ. Come to find out I was sold a basic garage motor and myQ was not compatible. When I asked to upgrade they quoted almost same price for myQ smart garage motor vs the basic unit. Why would you sell customers basic motor if the price difference isn’t much ($50). I’m a contractor my self and most homes today are all myQ system so you can open your garage using your phone. I was given the run around for exchanging the unit and trying to see if a vendor will accept the exchange. Unfortunately this company is all about ripping customers and charge them arm a leg. I spend $1800 just to get the motor installed in my garage. Also they removed the old unit but never bothered to remove the old garage door sensors. So now I have 2 garages sensors on each side. I gave them the opportunity to work with me and based on my belief they had no interest in making me happy. I highly recommend all viewers to be careful what you request from this company.

There are big problems in this company. After a guy named Freddy came out to measure the owner /Manager named Will would give me prices that would change every time I talked to him for the same door options. Once he gave me a price on a vinyl backed door on the phone. I tried to get him to send me a written quote on it three or four times but he never would. He was soooo nice on the phone but would never put it in writing. It made me feel like I was dealing with crook. He wasted so much of my time. Watch out.

The technician arrived as scheduled. He lubricated the garage-door hinges, and that was all - 5 minutes worth of effort. I signed his cell phone to obtain an emailed receipt but didn't receive one despite calling their office three times.

I needed a broken spring on my garage door replaced. When I was contacted by North Shore they said they could fix the problem today and were available until 6pm. Freddy was awesome. He arrived early and was waiting for me to arrive from work. He went over the work and completed the job before I knew it. He was very thorough and made sure the door was balanced and operating properly before he left. A great technician and an awesome person. North Shore will be my first choice for any future repairs. Had an appt today between 12-4pm and the tech never showed up and they didn't call either. When I called the CS number, Lisa told me she was going to find out where the tech was and would call me back. Never happened. Wasted the day off waiting for nothing. Very disappointed and would not recommend.

I had the best possible experience with North Shore. I called them because my 43year old opener would not lift my 53year old wooden overhead door. A technician was dispatched within 2 hours. Don, an obvious "straight-shooter," appraised my situation and told me that, because my door had become so heavy over the years, my aging springs were stressed to lift it. I decided that it was time to get a new door and opener. Don gave me a sheet describing some C.H.I. door styles, and we quickly arrived at terms. He told me that the work could begin within a day or two - wow! Sure enough, the next morning I received a call that the work could be done that day. Miles arrived and, within 4 hours, the job was completed: I had a beautiful steel overhead door, color-matched to the surrounding exterior, as well as a new LiftMaster Wi-Fi-connected opener. I can't say enough in praise for Miles: professional, efficient, skillful, courteous - everything that you would want in a technician. The quality of his work was the best; I am completely satisfied with it and with the experience that I had with North Shore. I give them my highest recommendation.

Joe was a perfectionist. He was very friendly and took the time to do everything very clean and professional. He removed the old garage door and installed the new garage door taking his time and not taking shortcuts thereby doing the job right. He also helped me setup the remote from the iPhone. Eventually agreed to replace with new metal door. Work went smoothly though they substituted another company within the group to do the work. Clean up was good to very good but not perfect. Installation seems to be done very well.

Jose showed up promptly at the scheduled time. Work was done quickly. Door was an extra heavy door which had too small a spring which broke. Jose recommended the next larger spring which significantly reduced strain on the opener. Have had no problems or issues. Would highly recommend North Shore for my garage door work.

I checked out other garage door installers. I decided to go with North Shore Garage Doors because, in addition to the 5-star Yelp reviews, Will, the owner, was very personable, answered all my questions and gave me a reasonable price for the new garage door. He did not try to sell me the more expensive insulated doors. I have a detached garage and, therefore, an insulated door was not necessary. Also, the door was installed quickly, a day after I signed the contract. I inquired at a big box store. The waiting period was 28 days for a new door. I would highly recommend this company.

They replaced it. Promptly came back to adjust it when the opener started making noise (no charge).
