Horrible. Here are excerpts of the letter I sent at the end of the job: I am writing to express my extreme displeasure and disappointment in how my floor was installed by Adair. On 8/2/17 and 8/3/17, Rob and Austin Adair installed our kitchen floor. I immediately called on 8/4/17 to let Adair know I was very dissatisfied with the job. I then followed up with an email detailing some of the bigger issues. I was told by Shelly and Karen that my concerns would be taken care of, but then when Rob came to inspect the issues, he dismissed most of my concerns, disrespected me, insulted my home and refused to fix most of the problems. When I first walked into the room on 8/4/17 and saw the broken and chipped trim, holes along the edges of the room where the shoe molding did not cover the tile edge, unleveled tile, uneven grout lines, and other items, it caused me to inspect the entire floor very carefully. I am a detail oriented person and wanted to highlight all of the areas that needed attention, so I marked each one with a note. When I was done marking problem areas, I had 49 separate items noted, some major and others very minor. Never before have I had more than a handful of items that needed addressing at the end of a project done in my home. I have had numerous companies complete work in my homes over the years and have never had someone complete a job in such a sloppy and unprofessional manner. Also, I have never been talked to by anyone in the way Rob talked to me, professionally or personally. He did not attempt to see what he could do to fix the issues, he just became defensive, rude, dismissive and told me I was too picky. If I am paying for a job to be done, it should be done to my satisfaction, end of story. You were working for me, not the other way around. My mistake was in paying the bill in full prior to inspecting the work, believe me that will never happen again. The customer may not always be right, but a smart business person makes them think they are getting what they wanted or at least explains why they cannot do what they wanted. A smart business person does not insult, disrespect and dismiss a paying customer. Here are just a few examples of comments Rob made to me: “it is always the people with the $70,000 crappy home that are the pickiest” “this is the correct way to do it, I have been doing this for years”,“I am not taking up any tile, it was done correctly” “you don’t need this anti tip device, this is so kids don’t tip the stove, no one uses them” ‘it’s in the contract” “that’s in the contract too” “no one can see that!” Rob could have diffused the situation a number of times, but instead chose to insist he was correct and made me feel that my opinions meant nothing to him, over and over. Even though I was the paying customer, my concerns and specifications did not matter to him. With every insult or dismissal that came out of his mouth, I got angrier and angrier, and the conversation escalated further and further. I became agitated, upset and at one point, I even started to cry. At this point, I should have asked Rob to leave my home, but I wanted to have him at least address the items he was willing to, as we had already provided Adair full payment for the job. He did some small repairs and then told me he needed to come back when he had received more of the correct color of grout. When Rob originally came to my home for the estimate, I told him the last tile person I hired called and asked us to cut the basement door before he came to finish the tiling. I told him that I did not want to have to do things like that, that I wanted someone who is going to do everything from start to finish. Rob said “we do it all”. I asked “do you put the shoe molding back on”, Rob said yes, “we do it all” never mentioning that you take no responsibility for painted woodwork being damaged, as we stood in my kitchen with painted woodwork all around the room. Then I asked “Will you do the transitions strips”, because the last guy did not and we had to figure it out later, Rob said “yes, we do it all” never mentioning that you do not do transitions on exterior doors, even though he was standing in front of an exterior door that the tile meets. “it’s in the contract” was the response when I brought it up when Rob came back. Too bad no one reads the contract, take some advice from me and mention it up front next time, mention that there could be some slight damage to your painted work wood during demo, and Adair is not responsible for repairing it. Mention you don’t do exterior door transitions, do not say “we do it all” when asked about these items, because you do not do it all. Then the customer can plan on having that work completed after you are done, instead of being disappointed because you never made it clear as to what “we do it all” means to Adair. Believe me we will read every word of any contract we sign in the future, thanks to your company. When he was here a few weeks ago, Rob did address some of the issues. He completed a lot of repairs to the trim, he cut down my cabinet so that it actually opens over the shoe molding again. He added caulk in around the wall behind the stove, reinstalled my anti-tip bracket on my stove and installed a transition strip between the rooms. All of this was good, but he failed to address the bigger issues we had with the installation like crooked uneven grout lines, unleveled tiles, grout with uneven color, grout which is chipped in numerous areas and the gaping holes under my toe kick. All of these items, he refused to address, indicating that the work was done correctly. Also, no one has ever mentioned the fact that when they plugged the refrigerator back in they did not bother to check if it was actually on, so all my food spoiled. No one even said, “Sorry we should have checked that”, it was never even addressed after I brought it up. On 9/1/17, Austin came to fill in grout where it was missing around the shoe molding. When I asked him about any plans to do anything about the missing tile under the toe kick, he said he could put in some grout, but that was all. So I told him to fix what he had been told to fix by Rob and to leave, as he was not there to complete all of the work I had expected him to complete. Now we are left to pay someone else to come in and correct some of Rob’s mistakes, however, we won’t be able to get the floor completely fixed. We do not want to have anyone pull up any tiles, as if there is a problem in the future with the installation, we will be returning to Adair for you to correct any installation defects based on your guarantee. So we will live with the crooked uneven grout lines and unleveled tiles. What I will get fixed are the gaping holes under my toe kick, as a piece of tile needs to put in the corner where there is none, it needs to be grouted between the tiles and it needs to be caulked against the cabinet. We will also have them remove the caulk around the tile behind the stove and replace it with a color that will actually hide the lumpy jagged tile edges and fills in the gap between the tile and the cabinets. We are also having issues with the transition strip that was installed. We trip over, as it is about an inch higher than it used to be, so we will have someone come up with a different transition between the rooms. Then we can have them finish the trim, by sinking the nails, caulking where there are still gaps and painting it. We can also have them touch up the walls where they were chipped during demo. Again, if Rob had mentioned this when he gave me the estimate, I would have been prepared to have this work done by someone else, instead as “we do it all” was what I was told, I was blindsided when I walked into the room and saw the broken and damaged trim and the damaged walls. Based on our extremely disappointing experience, dismissive treatment by the owner and the shoddy workmanship demonstrated, rest assured we will never do business with your company again. If we are ever asked about your work, our comments will appropriately reflect our disappointment in th
Response from Adair Floors 'N' More Inc
"We are very sorry you are not happy with Adair Floors. Working with existing structural issues or existing products can be frustrating to a customer and a challenge to installers. We offered as a courtesy for us to add shoe molding and to caulk all edges where your existing wall base is 3" off your floor. (your pictures) This would hide all of the tile ends and is the correct why to hide these edges that are under your cabinets. We offer new moldings to all of our customers at the time of an estimate for a charge. We also explain why they might be needed. Moldings get beat up over the years, they crack and peal with age or are just plain missing in areas. Some people take us up on this and some don't. You did not want us to change out your existing moldings but we are still willing to come out to put new moldings on for you at no charge for your satisfaction. This will put a finish look to the tile floor that your are looking for. Thank you Shelly and Rob Adair"

I know the gal that was in the store who helped us with the choosing of the laminate, she was very helpful. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. They have a large selection. They sell linoleum and laminate. We picked out the laminate. They do laminate countertops as well so we picked out the laminate countertop at the same time. My laminate floor looks like slate. It's very pretty and durable. The guy who came in and put it down did a great job. He knew what he was doing. He came in and it was done. The guy who did the countertop, he was subcontracted, but he came in, measured, and brought it in. Everything looked good. Everything with the remodel we did looked great.

Adair worked with us on picking out new granite countertops and walked us through the entire process.  We were looking to get our kitchen updated by a certain timeframe (family gathering) and they made it happen.  Very friendly and professional group of folks.

Installer arrived when he said he would be here. Not easy because he did the entire tear-out, re-install all by himself. His helper called in sick. It took about 3 hrs. total, and he did an outstanding job. Installers name was Kurt. Adair floors kept in contact with me and the work was done exactly as promised. No games, no foolin' around, just good old fashioned service which seems to be rarer and rarer nowdays.

They are nice. We're still working with them 'cause our carpet keeps matting so they're still trying to figure out how to help us. They're very helpful. They're very nice. They try to do the best thing they can for us. We already had our carpet replaced once for free so they had a meeting. They're discussing on what to do next because the carpet still is not doing very good. They show on time but they haven't been calling us back when they said they were going to. They're professional.

Overall the experience was great.  They were very nice at the store when helping us pick out the carpeting and vinyl.  They sent out a guy for the estimate right away.  Scheduling was tricky because they are very busy but they also ended up getting the job done the two days after Christmas which I was pleasantly surprised about.  They weren't the cheapest option so I gave them a C (fair) on the price because it was more than a lot of other quotes, but the service and quality of the product we got was worth the extra money.  Would recommend them and use them again in the future.

SUPER!  From start to finish the team at Adair Floors were wonderful!  We were replacing vinyl flooring that had been in our home for the past 25 years.  The staff helping us pick out a product in our price range, were great.  No one ever pushed a higher price product.  Rob came out & measured when he said he would.  The price quote came in very comparable to the other two quotes we got from other flooring stores. The time schedule was set & the team of Ken & Bob were always on time.  If we had any questions, they were happy to answer them.  They actually gave us their cell phone number to call.  Work was exceptional, they had to cut back wood to meet our hardwood floor with the vinyl.  That came out perfectly.  They removed 3 toilets & put them back in with no mess.  They were very careful with my carpeting.  Rob & his son helped us put in a new utility room tub as my husband had knee  replacement the month before.  They went above & beyond what we had expected.  Moved our washer & dryer.  Anything we asked of them, they were wonderful about doing.   We love our new flooring & have received many compliments on it.  What a great experience!  Wish all our remodeling experiences were this good...
Yes, yes, yes!  Would recommend again to anyone!

We are very pleased with the porcelain tile flooring installation in our foyer and bathroom by Adair Floors.  We would highly recommend them.  We had three estimates and each company suggested a different method but we felt that the price from Adair was very reasonable considering that they provided the most thorough approach of taking out the old flooring. Rob (owner) and his son did our floor install and it was a very difficult job since the floor had to be leveled to meet up with the kitchen floor and areas of the old flooring seemed to be sloping.  It came out perfectly. They were very professional, on time and responsive to our questions.  They also ordered new bathroom fixtures and installed for us (their plumber came out to do that).  We will be calling them again when it comes time to do our carpeting.

From start to finish, my experience with Adair was excellent. They were extremely helpful in all aspects and very accomodating to my schedule. The installation was done by Bob and Kenney, who were a delight to talk to, and who were professional and helpful beyond what I expected. (they broke down and moved my large kitchen table, then put it back in place when they were done) I will recommend them highly to anyone who has a need for flooring. The floor looks beautiful and the whole install only took four hours.

Showroom staff was patient and helpful in selecting the flooring and counters.  Once decided, measuring was done promptly, material was ordered and instllation scheduled.  All work was done on the date and at the time scheduled.  Due to scheduling issues (work was done after major snow storm) was without a usable kitchen sink for one night, not too big of a deal.  Only issue was communications could have been more timely - usually notice of work to be done was very short, even same day.  Final work was no notice - they just showed up, but it was fine as I was home.

"Thank you for the review. Sorry you did not have a sink over night but one crew installs the tops, the plumber installed all the plumbing products and another crew installs your floors. All experts in their field. Sometimes they can't do on the same day. Once the fabricator calls us that your tops are finished, we schedule everyone to install all products selected. We will make sure our office takes better notes on who was called, when they were called and make sure "you" our customer is absolutely okay with the time frame involved. Shelly Adair"

We were very happy with everyone at Adair.  From the first person that greeted us and everyone that worked with us with our floor selection.  We were also very happy with the installers.  They came on time and had everything that they needed to get started.  They were professional and answered every question that we had.  In fact, they welcomed any question that we had.  It was nice to feel that we weren't being a burden or demanding. They were very conscientious of their quality of work and the nicest & friendly guys. Just awesome!
