The erecting sub-contractor, on the other hand, was not fun to deal with. On a sunroom, these are the guys who spend most of the man-hours on site. The foreman was poor on communicating with us and failed to show up when we were expecting them. My wife and I took vacation days to be home, when nobody showed up. There were no apologies, just excuses. To be fair, they did a quality job when they finally finished. On the night of the 18th, we had a torrential downpour, and there were no leaks, and the room is wonderful.
Again, excellent quality, poor communication and punctuality for that one prime sub-contractor. Sunroom Design Group and the other two subs are all good. But I have to hold SDG accountable for the performance of the erecting crew. Remember, there are two or more sides to every situation. This is how we, as the customers, experienced it. It probably looks a little different to the contractors. My husband found the original receipt with the date, phone number, and cost on it. So I called and mentioned that we had him 3 years ago and told him where we lived and how much he charged. He agreed to the same price, which seems to be about $10 a window. We have never had our windows washed by anyone else before so I don't know if that price is expensive or cheap. It seems to be about $10 a window since we have 18 windows, all about the same size, but one set with a patio door and the usual size of windows with that. He made it look so easy to pull out the windows from the inside to get both sides of the windows. He had said he would be here at 8:30 am and he was almost exactly on time, maybe a little early. It took him about 3 1/2 hours to do the whole house. I always clean the sash areas of our windows, but I think he does too. This was done at the end of the summer so there must have been some dust or insects, but I didn't find any after he was done. I had called several area pest control firms because we had a pretty serious mouse problem in a building that is not occupied on a consistent basis. Batnzer offered the most thorough and specific information. Ed the technician arrived on time and was professional the whole time. He was very thorough. He sed mesh covers over all the areas where mice were believed to have come in, and then placed at least a dozen bait traps around the house. He sprayed the area for insects (we were most concerned about wasps). He listened to and addressed all our concerned, even providing information about the chenical make-up of all the products he used. In addition to being good at his job, he was also very friendly, which is always nice. We paid for a year of service, about $500. $99 for the initial call and another $31 per month. This includes four quarterly visits and additional visits at any time we wish to address specific issues. If this firm can the mice and wasps away, the price is more than worth it to us.

Chad came over to give an estimate and it was a fair so i decided to go with them because he said that they could do everything i was asking. Nick came out the next week, we talked about the project and what i wanted done, gave me a start date of 2 July 12 and finish date of 20 July 12 and took the initial 25% down payment. we picked out every color for stain to carpet, tile and lights with Nick. From here it all went to h*** quickly. they didn't get started until 2 1/2 weeks after the finish date and only because we kept calling to find out what was going on since Chad never called me. Chad said that they would have at least two people on the site everyday, Nick and other workers. when they started only one guy showed up and started to take measurements and left after only a few hours because the materials had not been ordered yet. two days later the materials show up and the one guy is back trying to stud out the basement. he said that the wrong materials had been sent he couldn't do any more that day to he left. long story, finally got the walls studded but poorly organized so i asked where Nick was and was told he was no longer with the company - surprise none of the info we talked about got passed off correctly. so i had to go down and check ever day after i got home from work to see what was done, lots of things done wrong and had to be redone. we never changed plans from day one but no info was passed on and it was frustrating for both us and the single worker he had here. three and a half weeks into the jobChad asked for a second payment and after cashing my check they walked off the job!!! he had his guys pick up the tools and go without saying a word. They pulled electricity from the basement to re-wire for new can lights, should have taken a two days at most - one week later there were no lights on still until i complained that they need to see if everything is working before sheet rocking the ceiling. He was to run a 220v wire for a hot tub that we wanted put in, since the info didn't get passed on right the guy ran it to a spot that was convenient for him to stop. First it was 30ft short of where it was suppose to be located for the terminal point, 2nd they used the wrong wire for the job. they used a cheaper wire that is not rated for use with a hot tub so i made them re-wire with a larger gauge wire that would handle the Amps for a hot tub. He bought a small role of wire because it was cheaper and ended running it 20ft short of where it was suppose to be located. An even bigger problem still is the fact that when they walked off the job, they left all the wiring with the ends sticking out of the wall and electricity running through the wires! so i have hot wires in the basement without any them hooked up to outlets or switches, the can lighting in my ceiling is incomplete. they left the electrical box open with all wires exposed. THIS IS A SAFETY AND FIRE HAZARD!! i also had them wire for a floor register with a thermostat to control the heat. unfortunately i realized to late that they have the thermostat directly over the heater so the heat will rise and shut off the thermostat quickly and the basement will still be cold. also there are two wires about a foot and a half apart sticking out of the wall about five feet up, when we asked about them we were told they are for the thermostat. we asked why so far apart, the worker said "yea, that may have to be moved." poor poor poor i had asked Chad from the start to build me a new set of stairs since the one in place was made from 2 x 12 with only two stringer and although sturdy not what we wanted. He said that he would build me a proper set of stairs and have it looking nice. well all he did was build set of stairs with three stringers and guess what, they are made of 2 x 10's. who in their right mind would pay to have a staircase made of 2 x 12 and replace them with 2x10? i asked about treads and riser for the "proper" staircase like we had talked about and he said he didn't think we wanted risers and treads. Chad included a bar in the quote that i had wanted built in a little nook of the basement. apparently he did not get bids on how much it would cost to build a bar so when the guy came out to give an estimate it was over the allowance that Chad wanted to pay. in the end Chad said that he could not do the bar because of cost was to high. I had asked that two 4" poles/post in my basement be wrapped with a decorative post and Chad agreed with me at the very beginning and knew what i wanted. they worker had no idea what i was talking about and had build a 1 foot box frame and sheet rocked it up around the poles. again who build a foot square box to cover a 4" post... i had to go to the hardware store and get the info for the supposed carpenter. i also had a pipe coming off the wall for drainage that angled out about a foot high and 8 inches from the base of the wall , i told them not to worry about boxing it in and i would just have it painted. they left the area behind the pipe open to the outer concrete wall and did not sheet rock this - who, what contractor leaves a gaping hole in the wall! Professionalism was out the window with this company. i understand that this is a job site but it is my home, they would walk in without knocking in the morning. they would track dirt, plaster and anything else through my house, hallway without cleaning it up or even trying not to make a mess. once when the worker got mad he ran out of the house and slammed the basement door, stomped out of the house and slammed the front door. on another occurrence we could hear swearing (the F word) coming from the basement and extremely loud music that they (yes there where finally two people here that day) that they had to shout over to talk to each other. there was no pre-planning for materials or planning for sub-contractors to come in. Chad told us that he would have a electrician, a plumber and a painter come in and do the required work, come to find out there were no other sub-contractors just his workers trying to figure out what to do. Luckily for me, i used to manage a Home Depot and know what to look for, what needs to be done and how it needs to be done. i was able to make correction to their mistakes, but i should not have had to. we did not change one thing from day one other than not having the bar built. if they know what they were doing i would not have had to point out their mistakes. one month after the initial finish date has passed and i do not have a finished basement and they have walked off the job leaving a mess. i will have to hire an electrician to come in and try to figure out what they have done and see if he can fix it. the fan, light and baseboard heaters in my three seasons room now have no power to it, the back part of my basement has no lights to it. now i have to hire an electrician to repair the damage he has done. i can do most of the work myself but it will take time, that is why i hired supposedly "professionals" to complete the project quickly. i will have to complete the stairs, tiling, bathroom fixtures, vanities, lights, paint, trim work for the entire basement, hanging doors, building the bar, building shelves and stain all to match. Chad has not responded to any emails, texts or phone messages for the last week in trying to get in touch with him. i am giving him the opportunity to finish or fix the project prior to any further action i may take. Randy came out, measured for new windows and explained their products in detail. Within a few days I received a quote that was very comparable to other quotes I had received. In February of 2012 I decided to go ahead with the project. I called Randy and he came out within a day or two to re-measure and discuss what my plans were. I signed the contract, asking for a quote on replacing my old gutters too.The next day he came to measure with the installer. There was not a single bit of pressure to sign anything or pushy sales techniques. He explained how the windows would be replaced and background on the installers. The quote for the gutters was also very reasonable so I gave the go-ahead on that as well.
They installed the gutters a couple weeks prior to the windows and did a fabulous job. You can hardly tell there are gutters on my house. Best of all they work wonderfully and the installers eliminated three of the downspout making the lines of the house much cleaner looking. The first big rain we got I stood outside and listened to the water running thru the gutters. They worked like a dream.
I have a smaller dog that is very active and friendly. The installer is a dog person, he took time to greet my dog and get to know him by name. A few weeks later when they came to install, he called my dog by name and seemed genuinely happy to spend a few minutes with him. The installers did a wonderful job, they were timely and willing to explain when I stopped in during the middle of the day to see progress.
When I got home the second night, I had to stand outside and admire my patio door because they had done such a wonderful job wrapping the brickmold. The windows work well and have improved not only the exterior but the interior look of the house. I went from old casements to doublehungs. I can't wait to see the savings next winter because I have triple pane, Low E windows that actually shut tight."},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/wi/mosinee/brotzman-seamless-corp-reviews-5493509.htm"},"position":7},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"Fish Window Cleaning Inc","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"WI","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Dolores C."},"reviewBody":"I originally found the Fish company on Angie's List. But before I got around to calling them a Groupon coupon deal showed up on my email. I paid $40 for $80 worth of work. Apparently, I didn't quite understand how the coupon worked. But I called for an estimate and a very personable rep, Roland, came out. He took a look at the work to be done and made sure of what I wanted. He then explained how the coupon worked. I ended up paying another $130, but that was fine with me. It didn't seem out of sync with what had to be done, especially since it was a very dirty job as the windows hadn't been cleaned in years and gutters hadn't been been cleaned ever. So we set up an appointment and one was only available in two weeks. That depended on the weather (rain). So the job was a go. Of course, it rained, but Roland called to see if I still wanted to go ahead. We talked it over and agreed to proceed as the rain was slowing down. Roland said it would take half a day. I couldn't believe that, but I said you should know. By the time the young man, Josh, got here, it had stopped raining. He looked around, asked a few questions, and started to work. I had already moved things out of the way as much as possible. Roland said the worker would take down curtains and/or drapes and put them back up as I couldn't do that, but he didn't. There really wasn't any need. He just pushed them aside. There was a need to take down two because of the size of the windows. He went right to work, cleaned the windows inside and out, took down and cleaned the screens, put them back and was done. I also have skylights. No problem. But he did not have the gutters on his work order. I showed him mine. He called the office and clarified that yes, he was to do the gutters. He used my hose and water ( he had to find and turn on the water as I didn't know where it was). Soon he was done. I do not have a little house but it is all on one level and the windows are such that they are not hard to get at. I don't have any little windows so that made the job go faster. When coming into the house he did put covers over his shoes and did not mess up the house in doing the job. I would hire Fish to do the same job again. It is my intent to do so again next year and stay on top of keeping the windows and gutters clean. I will just make sure to be on my toes and check the work as much as possible.

"Took a full year from when we put the deposit down for a new liner, to get installed! They came out over 10 times measuring and re-measuring. Finally I sent my measurements directly to Merlin and I also was the one who approved there prints. so that they could start making it. Gary said ?they will have the liner in 5 days and install on the next day. 2 weeks later he finally installs the liner and explains to me that Merlin requires a new way of measuring and that is why he was having an issue (it was a standard tape measure). Gary through out the summer had multiple excuses as to why various things weren?t going as planned. He had 1 employee quit, the replacement got first, and hire two young guys (in which 1 quit). Now he is heading back home, the Philippines and doesn?t plan on coming back. The one guy that stayed is going to buy the business over payments (no experience, except the last 3 months). BEWARE!"
