"They responded quickly, they were friendly and answered questions and got everything done. They also installed a whole house water filtration system plus the tank-less hot water heater. I had never tried HomeAdvisor before yet we were frustrated because the places we were given to have this work done weren't responding or showing up. We had questions, many, no hot water and within an hour we had a call back from Anderes Plumbing. This was on a Friday and Monday they were here checking out what they needed, plus setting up a day for two days later. It was a full days work. Everything was done that day except the filtration system needed a pump which they returned two days later to check on how everything was running with the pump in hand and had it installed in a heartbeat. By then we were already enjoying the hot water. It is a few weeks later now and everything is working well. If we need anymore work done we know who we are calling. Thank you Anderes Plumbing. LLC!"

"I don't have anything to compare this to, but my 30ish year old furnace went out during a cold snap. DSP came out in the evening to diagnose it, explained my options (spend $1,400 on a repair or just replace the unit). The technician even brought back electric heaters for me to use overnight (it was about 9 pm at that point). They had a furnace in stock and they replaced mine in the next day. It is a year later and everything is working great. They have even come back one time to show me how to properly use my new thermostat. I am very pleased with their service and would not hesitate to call them again.

"We pay yearly but we have this is included with our rental property. They are pretty good on most things. We had a hot water heater replaced and they did an excellent job on that. They are very quick on their response. They dont come out here. It is all done on the internet.  I just like the idea that one time service charge is so much better than trying to hiring someone to come in. It is more about convenience. It pays for itself."

Water Heaters questions, answered by experts

The size needed for your expansion tank is determined by the size of your home's water heater. Expansion tanks are available in 2-gallon and 4.5-gallon sizes. A 2-gallon tank will be appropriate for water heaters up to 50 gallons. An adequately sized tank should have a volume that equals 2% to 5% of the water volume within the system. A plumber can evaluate your home's water pressure, water heater size, and other factors to provide suggestions for picking out the best expansion tank.

The average lifespan of a water heater is eight to 12 years. If your water heater is approaching its first decade of life and is giving you problems, talk to a plumber about your replacement options.

Keep in mind that certain parts of a water heater, such as the anode rod, may need replacement long before the heater itself. An anode rod often has a lifespan of three to five years.

Signs your electric water heater is failing include inconsistent water temperature, reduced hot water supply, longer heating times, or discolored water (rusty or cloudy). Unusual noises like popping or rumbling suggest sediment buildup, while leaks or corrosion around the tank signal structural damage. If your unit is over 10 to 15 years old and experiencing frequent issues, it may be time to replace it.

Several things can void the warranty for your water heater. Many water heater manufacturers state that installing your own will void the warranty. However, even if you get away with performing the task yourself, incorrect installation, lack of a building permit, and improper repair work, regardless of licensing status, can all render your water heater unprotected by both the manufacturer's warranty and any installation warranties.

Every type of water heater has its advantages and disadvantages. Understanding those can help you decide the best type for your situation and budget.
