Both awnings and pergolas create shelter in outdoor areas, but pergolas have grid-style roofs, which are more open than awnings and not as effective at blocking out UV rays and precipitation.   • Cotton offers flexibility, weatherproofing, and easy cleaning

  • Canvas is highly durable and is a good choice for retractable awnings

  • Polycarbonate is highly resistant to UV rays and is difficult to damage

Metal awnings last much longer than fabric thanks to their durability and resistance to fading, sun damage, and damage from the outside elements. They also need less maintenance than fabric options.
