Small jobs welcome

"Michael is considerate, conscientious, customer service oriented, trustworthy and polite. He did some deck wood work, installed a barn door in our home and cleaned out the dryer vent. We highly recommend Michael! Thanks Michael for your help!"

"Chris is punctual, easy to communicate with, and was willing to accommodate for my contractor's need to explore and repair water intrusion under a section of old gutter. He is reliable and willing to flex to the needs of his employees as well as his customers. He offers GI and first responder discounts. (Photo available after house is painted)"

"At this time, the project stands incomplete with a few windows not completed. I have called and I am told to expect them to be completed w/in the week. The pattern seems to be a matter of "over committing". It started with the pitch to have 4 professionals show up at my home to do a contruction clean up. I was clear the home had been under a complete remodel so it was very dirty. I had 2 people show up. One was there for windows only leaving one person to clean 2300 sq feet. The two people were nice, but I would not recommend them to others. What could have taken 6 hours w/ 4 people took 2 - 8 hr days it the job is not completed."

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

Most contractors will include removal of your lights in the price of installation, but it’s always a good idea to double check. Storage of the lights is often also part of the package when you hire an installation professional, since you might choose to use the same lights for several years.

You can tackle hanging Christmas lights yourself with the right tools, accessories, and a trusted friend or neighbor. You’ll need to purchase a ladder ($100 to $300), clips ($10 to $20), hooks ($10 to $15), and lights ($25 to $100 per string).

Otherwise, you should hire a trusted holiday light installer near you. You’ll pay an average price of $200 to $650, but you’ll have peace of mind knowing that the job is done correctly and safely.

Professional Christmas decorators offer everything from hanging lights in and outside your home to decorating the tree and adding decor around the house. Decorators may focus on porches, foyers, staircases, mantelpieces, and other similar focal areas.

If you need help with your holiday decorating, the first step is determining your lighting and decor needs to narrow down your pro options. For example, if you want a custom outdoor light display with all of the bells and whistles, you’ll likely need to hire a local holiday light installer who specializes in that service. But if you only need to hang some lights inside in hard-to-reach places, consider hiring a handyperson or an interior decorator instead. It’s best to contact at least three different companies for quotes and to find out what services they offer.

Yes, you can try removing and replacing each individual light bulb one at a time until you find the problem bulb—just be prepared for it to take a while. The bulb tester is worth the investment if you don’t have a lot of extra time to spare or need to test several strands of lights.
