"They were out on time and did a wonderful job of patching the roof. This as a temporary fix to get me through the tough fall and possible winter months. I now am expecting an estimate for a complete roof and expect to hire them for the job."

"Mark and his crew were fantastic. They worked long hours to accomplish the job in an expedient manner to alleviate inconvenience to our family. They cleaned up everyday and went out of their way, to include additional touches not in the scope of work, to have the completed project looking great. If we ever have future projects, we'll definitely be contacting them."

"One word, professional! From my first email (promptly answered) to James Stevenson, owner, enquiring about his ability to fix our sticky, laundry room pocket door all the way to project clean-up, I was most impressed by James's reasonable rates for his work, in-depth subject matter knowledge, recognition of MTC Handyman Services’ limitations, ability to clearly communicate a job's status with his customer and propose additional steps which were needed to address the job. James arrived promptly at the agreed upon time to fix our pocket door. He did a preliminary assessment of the situation and determined that the issue was with a door frame which was too tight and the entire pocket door with frame would need to be replaced. He informed us that the replacement job was beyond the scope of his handyman services and that he would not be charging us for the call. Unfortunately, he informed us that he had not been able to refer us to a contractor who could do that job because he had not been able to identify one who met his quality work standards. It had been my plan that if I was satisfied with his work on the pocket door, I would ask about his availability to complete other handyman jobs around our home. While he wasn't able to fix our pocket door, his ability to quickly ascertain the situation and deal forthrightly with his customer convinced me that I wanted him to complete one of the other jobs that I had in mind. One of those other jobs was to install a metal access door (I had already ordered and received the metal door so it was on hand) over a newly installed water shut-off valve where the plumber had left a jagged, gaping hole in the wallboard. James said he could install it immediately, but would need to pick up the necessary framing lumber first. He was gone only a short time on this errand. He quickly proceeded with installing the access door. The finished access door looked fabulous and operated exactly as I had hoped for. When my spouse saw the new door, she exclaimed that James should have been an artist because he had done such an outstanding job installing the door. James is now in my permanent contacts list for whenever I have more handyman jobs around our home."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

If a pool turns green after adding salt, there’s a good chance the salt is the problem. Certain brands of salt have high levels of iron that cause pool water to take on a green hue. Test your pool water to determine if this is the issue. The green color will usually filter out. Brush the sides of the pool to knock the iron off.

This is just one reason a pool can turn green that is specific to adding salt. Many other reasons a pool can turn green include algae growth, low chlorine levels, a faulty filter, etc.

The most straightforward approach to filling an in-ground swimming pool is to connect a garden hose from your exterior tap. However, this is not the best idea if there's water scarcity or restricted rationing. If so, you'll want to make alternate arrangements, like getting a water delivery service to fill your pool.

Yes, you will need building permits for an inground pool, and your pool installation company should pull them for you. The permit filing fee will usually sit between $400 and $1,800, and it should appear on your contract or invoice. You may want to confirm with your contractor that they will pull all necessary permits. You might also need a permit for a new fence, as many municipalities have special fencing requirements for properties with pools. A fence permit costs between $50 and $500. This expense may not be included in your pool installation estimate.

Factors affecting pool installation costs include pool size, construction material, special features (like lighting or waterfalls), landscaping, and prevailing site conditions, which might enhance excavation complexity.

Yes, you can use chlorine tablets in a salt water pool. It is not the standard recommended practice, but if your pool needs more chlorine, adding tablets can help temporarily fix the problem. Only add as many tablets as needed to keep your chlorine level around three parts per million. After adding the tablets, test your water to determine the chlorine content.
