We were combining households and had way too much furniture and miscellaneous items. Both my fiance and I travel for business frequently and had little time to manage garage sales or CraigsList ads. I contacted a number of estate sale companies and none had availability. Sound Estate Management, however, contacted me right away and was willing to do an assessment. Jessica arrived a couple of weeks before the sale and took a rough inventory of the items we wanted to sell. She made it clear that smaller items were key - dishes, household items, small appliances, tools, etc. These items bring people into the sales who otherwise might not be looking for furniture. She stated the more smaller items we could gather from family and friends the more effective our sale would be. She agreed to manage a two day sale for $3000 or 30% of profit, whichever was greater. She warned me it was possible I'd only break even - there was no guarantee I'd come away with anything. Preparation for the sale began the Wednesday before. I was not present during the preparation or the sale but am told it generated a LOT of traffic. Jessica said she would post ads in CraigsList and NW Source as well as put out signage and notify her email contact list. In the end we made a profit of more than $7000 - so after Jessica's and the State's cut I received $2700 - a number I am more than happy with. I was very impressed with this company's work and highly recommend them to anyone looking to do an estate sale. They are professional and provide excellent communication throughout the process.

I was impressed when I met with Sarahlynn how she could spot things that people might want. I suggest that you don't throw anything away if there's the least doubt in your mind about it. These people have a difficult job, and since there weren't many valuable items I wasn't expecting much money. In fact she was up front and honest about this, and was right in that I made no money, and I'm content with that. If I had done it all myself it would have eaten up several more months of my life, and that time is worth something. I paid a reasonable fee for a final cleanup, which was very thorough. Anything you care about should be removed or at least well marked. Everything I clearly marked was left alone. The work was very well done, and the only negative comment I have is that there were a few times when I felt that there was minor miscommunication. No real harm done. My overall impression was very good.
Description of Work: First I met with Sarahlynn for examination of the premises and discussion. Then her crew organized, cleaned, and priced hundreds of items. There was a two day sale which I didn't attend but which according to the neighbor was just buzzing with activity. Afterward her team cleaned everything out (except for a few things I wanted to keep).
