"Greg is a fantastic inspector. We have used him for two inspections and his level of detail is unparalleled. He saved us from a true lemon of a house. He arrives early and leaves no stone unturned. The inspector I used previously doesn't even compare. Worth every penny."

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."

Chandelier Installation questions, answered by experts

The distance from the dining table to the bottom of the chandelier's droptop is essential when hanging your light fixture. For example, the fixture should hang 30 to 36 inches above the table for an 8-foot ceiling. If your ceiling is higher than the standard eight feet, add three inches of chandelier height for every foot of ceiling height.

Most ceiling light fixtures only have a black, white, and green wire, but in some cases, you’ll also find a red wire in the box. This is a second hot wire, like the black wire, and is included for ceiling light kits that have a fan.

A wall-mounting light fitting is called a sconce. Traditionally, sconces were placed along walls in a home to hold candles or torches for lighting. The electrical counterparts with lightbulbs serve an identical purpose, often lighting up hallways. Sconces come in a wide range of shapes and sizes. Changing a light fixture mounted on a wall requires the same basic steps as replacing a ceiling light.

The average cost to install a light fixture is $600, with a typical range of $200 to $1,100. The total cost depends on several factors, including the type and number of fixtures, wiring requirements, and your location. Additional costs may apply for removing old fixtures or for any necessary electrical or drywall work. Replacing an existing light fixture is generally less expensive than installing a new one because the wiring is already in place.

There are a variety of hooks available you can use to hang your Christmas lights on concrete without drilling unsightly holes. Attaching hooks on gutters or using construction adhesive in a caulk gun are two options that work very well for getting hooks to stay up all season.
