We have been in the outdoor lighting industry for over 9 years. What started as a passion for the way light transforms a property after dark turned into a full career — and I haven't looked back. I've worked through every season, every climate condition, and every property type you can imagine, from modest residential homes to sprawling multi-acre estates. That kind of time in the field doesn't just build skill — it builds judgment. I know what works, what fails after two winters, and what makes the difference between a lighting system that looks good in photos and one that still looks great a decade later.\n\nMy Experience and Past Jobs\n\nOver 500 completed projects. That number matters, because it means I've seen nearly every situation a property can throw at me. I've lit Victorian homes with ornate architectural detail, modern farmhouses with clean lines, wine country estates with hundreds of feet of mature landscaping, new construction with bare ground and a

"I have been using them for 3 years for multiple projects and would not go to somebody else. They also built a cabin in the woods. It was built 10 miles from the road so it was like carrying all the stuff up the path. They also did the garage and remodeling of the house, mostly kitchen and a little bit of plumbing work in the bathroom. I am still using them and I would be using them for the next thing that will be coming up too."

Exterior Lighting questions, answered by experts

To maintain your outdoor lighting and prevent major issues, you should regularly clean the fixtures, inspect the wiring and connections, and replace worn or burnt-out bulbs promptly. These simple steps ensure consistent operation and extend the life of your lighting system.

Options include pathway lights, spotlights, and smart lighting systems. Choose based on function and aesthetics.

While wet-rated and damp-rated lighting is designed to handle contact with moisture, there’s a difference between the two. Wet-rated lighting is safety-rated to be placed in areas with direct exposure to water, including your shower. Fixtures classed as wet-rated are made with waterproof seals to protect the filament and other electrical components from water and moisture.

Damp-rated fixtures can be used in places with some moisture contact, but not direct exposure. They don’t have the same waterproof seals used in wet-rated fixtures. Damp-rated lighting can be used on your bathroom ceiling or along a wall outside of your shower.

Professionals enhance safety by addressing structural issues, securing loose components, and using non-toxic materials. They ensure compliance with building codes and conduct thorough inspections to identify potential hazards. Their expertise minimizes risks, making the home safer during and after repairs.

While most general electricians can repair lamps and light fixtures, it is often better to hire a lamp repair specialist. Many electricians prefer larger jobs, such as fixing electrical systems or relocating fixtures, and may not offer lamp repair services due to the small scale of the work. Additionally, some lamps, particularly antique models, require dedicated expertise that a general electrician might not have. A lamp repair specialist will be familiar with various types of fixtures and can provide a more dedicated service. If you have already hired an electrician for a larger project, you can ask them to look at your lamp, but for a standalone repair, a specialist is typically the best option.
