It was an absolute pleasure to have Scott do our deck, and we love the finished product.  There were a couple of very minor things that I brought up to him during construction, and he cheerfully and easily found a solution to them.  Other than the framing for the garage door below the deck that we agreed ahead of time was not in his cost, there were no change orders.  His lump sum price that we contracted for is what the final cost was.  When the city's inspector came for the final inspection of the deck, he carefully looked it over and was very impressed with the quality of the workmanship and found no problems, but only offered praise.  We interviewed a number of contractors before finding Scott and were not particularly impressed with the others.  But we instantly liked him when he came to look at our project.  He listened to us and didn't make snap judgments about what we should do, but gently offered his opinion when we didn't know which way to go.  Unlike larger contractors that have high overhead that you end up paying for, Scott is a small business who worked with his very skilled and knowledgeable son on the project.  Scott's concern is to do the project right and he calmly and professionally went about the process of building us a deck that will last a lifetime.  You can't go wrong with Scott of Home Enhancements and I offer up my unqualified recommendation of him as an outstanding deck contractor!
