"We got several quotes. Ryan owns SPNW and gave us the best sales pitch. He walked us through the entire process, explaining the types of panels they use, how the panels are attached to the roof, and many other aspects of the process. He was patient and answered all our questions. Other companies were all about the numbers and financing, with fake laughs and smiles, and they cut our meetings short in a rush to get to their next appointment. Ryan was simply the best."

"They arrived early & went straight to work. They moved sprinklers that were hugging my old 10x10 patio and had forms up in no time. I have to admit I was a little scared after the initial pour. Did not realize how cement is worked & worked. Needless to say I am thrilled to now have a roomier, nice looking patio. Most definitely two thumbs up!!!"

We started our local Solar and Battery company with one mission... to give homeowners looking into solar/batteries in Eastern Washington a Pure Energy Experience. Large companies out here have hurt our community with dishonest sales tactics and horrible service experiences. We deliver a comprehensive analysis, inspection, and incentive explanation for your home and project in one visit. We know we are all busy, and in about an hour at your home, we can give you a down to the penny view of what solar or grid-less backup can look like for your specific home and situation with our company. With exclusive American made products and financing, our mission is to get as many people free from relying on the grid for their homes power and energy security. We do this with 25 year warranted products and a price point the beats the bigger companies by thousands. If you are wanting a simple, truthful, and efficient experience with solar... do it with Pure Energy.

"The last was a rental company that we have and we used them for an air conditioning and heating system. It was Bototach Mechanical. It’s been a good program for us. They’re very responsive. I don’t know what the thought process was. My husband said, well let’s try these guys and so we did. We have an older home and it’s proved to be a very good deal. The quality has been pretty good, so I would give them an A for the quality. I will give you one helpful hint though. If the company decides they want to replace an appliance, you need to call them and negotiate with them because you can upgrade, but you need to talk to them in person not just do it over the internet."

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

Yes, solar panel installation will require permits. The required permits will depend on where you live, as some states and cities have solar-specific permits, while others only require electrical permits to connect to the grid. In either case, it’s best to hire a reputable solar installer in your area, as a representative should handle all of the necessary permitting for you and will include the cost of the permits in your initial solar estimate.

You can start narrowing your search for a reputable solar company by finding local, regional, and national companies that service your area and maintain positive reviews online. You should also check the Better Business Bureau’s (BBB) website to see if the company has complaints filed against them. Next, contact the remaining candidates and ask about installation timelines, warranty coverage, and financing options. Choose a company that offers a labor warranty that lasts at least 10 years and prioritizes cash purchases and solar loans.

You can install solar panels on a metal roof, but it will require some additional thought and care versus a traditional asphalt shingle roof. That’s because heat dissipates off a metal roof differently than asphalt or wood, so you may need to space the panels further from the roof. However, a pro can help you with the details and provide a safe and effective installation.

Yes, you should tell your home insurance company about your solar panels. Even if you believe they’re covered by your existing policy, installing a solar panel system is a significant change to your home. This can affect coverage and premiums. By discussing your new solar panel installation with your insurance provider, you can be sure you have enough coverage and that the policy completely covers the panels against damage.

Yes, it is possible to install solar panels on a tar and gravel roof, but it is not the ideal roofing material for a solar installation. The process requires roof penetrations to install the solar racking system. While installers will seal these penetrations, they still increase the risk of leaks. This risk is higher on tar and gravel roofs, which are often flat. Flat roofs are more prone to leaks than sloped roofs because they can pool water during heavy rain and hold snow for longer periods, exposing the roof to more moisture.
