"Joseph initially sprayed for weeds and removed certain unwanted bushes. Then laid decorative rock on the backyard beds beside the patio. Then he agreed to do some front yard borders, which involved bricks to form the borders and filled in with decorative rocks. Doing these borders was a new endeavor for him, and he did a fabulous job! He's been very helpful, conscientious, kind, thoughtful, and all-around pleasant in doing as asked. I highly recommend him."

Weed Services questions, answered by experts

The main problem with crabgrass is that it produces thousands of seeds that can remain dormant until the following season. To get rid of it, you have to remove existing plants before they have a chance to spread seeds and stop old seeds from germinating.

Yes, if your home is poorly maintained and has weeds and overgrowth, it can affect your home appraisal and lower the value. Home buyers want to see a well-kept home, and if yours lacks curb appeal whether inundated by weeds or not, you could be neglecting the potential for it to reach its full value.

Weeds may grow back when pulled out if the root is not completely removed. Invasive weeds can regrow from just a small portion of remaining root, so using a weed-pulling tool can help ensure you remove the entire root. Weeds may grow back faster if roots aren’t fully removed, and incomplete removal could cause them to spread as well.

Weeds can grow through rubber mulch, but it depends on if you removed all the weeds in your garden beforehand. Weeds already in the soil can grow even when using rubber mulch. However, that doesn’t mean that your garden will be littered with rubber and weeds, but it does mean that the occasional weed might still pop up. Another way you can increase your weed suppression is by using landscape fabric as a second layer.

Due to its slow growth, Bahia grass does not generally take over weeds. In fact, the opposite can be true. Young Bahia grass is susceptible to being taken over by weeds.

Likewise, in the cool season, Bahia grass goes into a dormant state that can allow weeds that thrive in early spring to get the upper hand. If you want to prevent weeds from taking over your yard, remove them by hand or apply a Bahia grass-friendly pre-emergent herbicide to your lawn before weeds have a chance to appear.
