"LeafFilter doesn't clean gutters, they sell and install their LeafFilter Gutter products and only clean the gutters if you buy their product. I can't even begin to afford their product so I wasn't able to get my gutter cleaned by them."

"The gutter work was excellent. They even corrected work that was done beforehand by Costco. They were very professional and thorough when it came to the gutters. My only issue is that I would’ve liked the same attentive to the roof cleaning as with the gutters. Considering what I paid."

"57th ACliff, Chris and Craig provided excellent service for us.  We needed them to help us recycle and haul away refuse left by an evicted tenant.  The home was a true disaster.  They helped us remove carpets, clean up the yard and remove a lot of left over garbage from the tenants.  It took us two days to remove all the junk -- everything you could imagine.  Cliff was very professional and honest.  I will use them again in the future and I would heartily recommend them to anyone.

"I had < 2 weeks to at least contract for a roof replacement.  Insurance company insisted we replace roof on rental home or they would issue a notice of 'intent to cancel'.
I ended up meeting & getting quotes from 4 vendors (2 were between $10-12K, other 2 were between $17-20K) all for same job!   BTW...  AmeriServ did not have the advertising presence to even make my initial short list of 3 vendors.   It was only after the sticker shock of my first estimate - that I decided to get a couple of additional estimates & reached out to an acquaintance in the construction industry, asking who he'd recommend.  He gave me their name.

I called and "Chris" answered the phone.   Sounded like he was driving so I asked if it would be better to call back.  He said he was on a job site but could take the call.   Since I was on a short timeline, when he initially suggested an appointment later in the week I explained my situation & asked if we could meet earlier.  He said he'd check options & call me back in an hour.   He did & said someone would meet me at 530pm that same evening.  Very cool, I thought, especially since one of the other vendors scheduled me out 10 days & wouldn't budge, indicating absolutely know way to move that up, even given my situation.
I arrived a little before 530 and "Josh" was there in an AmeriServ pickup. He apologized for not having oppty to wash the truck (looked fine to me).   I learned later that Chris & Josh were partners in AmeriServ (I think that was the setup anyway).   And that they each had multiple years experience in the industry, working for larger contractors.
I appreciated Josh's consultative, almost non-sales approach.  I had done some online research to educate myself to not be at the mercy of salespeople.  Josh took the time to explain options (plywood vs OSB, ridgevent, flashings, etc).   I walked around on the roof w/ him, taking measurements, while he pointed out how AmeriServe would handle various aspects of my job.   He contrasted my roof with neighboring roofs, including 1 that was recently replaced by a competitor who I also was getting a quote from.   Without making a big deal of it - he described their specific methods for ensuring quality on a job as well for improving their own processes by taking 'lessons learned' from each job.   He didn't use those 'buzzwords' but it was clear they took quality seriously and had mechanisms for monitoring & improving.
At no point did I feel "pressured" to go with any option, or even to close the deal with them.   I told Josh that I was still getting another bid before deciding (btw from the 10-day company, who I originally thought would be my final choice - based on their online reviews & that they had just done a job in the same neighborhood).  He honored his commitment by emailing me their estimate later that night.
Ameriserv ended up being the lowest bid but even if they were the next higher one, I still would've chosen them.  By that time, I was convinced they would commit to a quality job and furthermore, that they had the ability to do so.   After getting my last bid & deciding on Ameriserv, I called Josh & arranged to meet him at their office to schedule work, choose options, & make down payment.  At this time, another step I appreciated was Josh explaining exactly how the job would proceed (pre-delivering materials, when they'd need the driveway, dumpster arrival, contingency plans if it rained while job underway, etc).  So, a good job setting my expectations up front & then managing those, as the job proceeded.
Our start date was thwarted by rainy weather but Josh kept me updated as start date approached.   Once the job was underway, Josh texted me daily status updates with photos!.    The entire job was completed on time, no damage or wear on the premises, and they did a thorough clean up afterward (including some magnetic vacuum to pickup any nails - & with 3 layers of shingles removed - there must've been 1000s of nails removed).
A couple of days after completion, I met Josh at the house for a final walkthrough (walkupon?) of the job. Josh presenting their finished work, pointing out the features & options we'd discussed, and answering any final questions.  He gave me the warranty paperwork and gave him a check for the balance.  As a final nice touch, he agreed to hold my check for 2 days before depositing.  :-)

FAQs for gutter cleaning projects in Brinnon, WA

Yes, it’s okay to use a pressure washer to clear and clean your gutters. Be careful to avoid the outside of the gutters, as getting too close with the powerwasher can peel away the paint. Also, be careful to avoid causing any damage to seams that may be in the corners or along the length of the gutter.

Gutter cleaning costs about $170 on average, ranging from about $75 to $400. Cost factors include the type, length, and height of your gutters. A multiple-story home with gutters high off the ground and accessible only by ladder or working on a steep roof will cost more than a single-story house with a relatively flat roof.

Gutters should be cleaned at least twice a year, in the spring and in the fall, to remove the debris from trees that can clog the eavestroughs and downspouts. Debris like leaves, twigs, and seed pods can build up and cause your gutters to overflow, potentially causing damage to your roof and foundation. Water backing up under the shingles can rot the edge of your roofline. Overflow water falling next to your foundation can end up leaking into your basement or crawl space.

Yes, gutter cleaning methods without using a ladder are available, including:

  • A curved wand attachment for your hose

  • Gutter tongs on an extension pole

  • A leaf blower gutter cleaning kit

  • Vacuum designed for cleaning gutters

Just be sure that your downspouts are connected and can direct water away from the house if you’re using a water-powered method. This will keep the water from dumping next to the house.

You can clean the gutters on a two-story house using gutter tongs on an extension pole. However, cleaning second-story gutters from a ladder or the roof is very dangerous and should be done by a professional.
