Porter & sons are the real deal; honest, skillful, and with great professionalism and pride in their work. They are a pleasure to work with, and we love all the work they've done on our home. They take pride in their work, and are honest.

Not one problem, no kidding. In 20 degree weather, snow, Jeff and his team were up on the scaffolding framing out my house. It began around December 1 and finished by July...much of the work, after initial framing was done by him alone. Shows up every day on time...every day! If he is not coming, he will tell you, Works and only stops for lunch...not kidding. Honest, trustworthy, keeps his word and frankly under priced for the quality of the work. And yes...when I was not home while he was working (which was often) he walked my dog

They backed out and he didn’t want to take this project and recommended Dennis who I was very happy with. I did have a rough estimate and his partner wanted to retire and they were trying to finish up things that he had already committed before and not take on new commitments. I checked his website and he does a lot of posting beam work which is very nice stuff and that was more than I was looking for. In the website his place is gorgeous but he didn’t do any work for us. It ended up costing about what he said it would cost with another builder. His responsiveness was good

He is old school guy and he is not online. He does everything and he is a super notch. He is a great guy. He did a good job. He is very straight forward and I will highly recommend him. I had complete flexibility and saved money and he let me work with him. I specified what I wanted for roofing, siding, trim work on the outside. I did the design and we worked closer together for that to happen. He gave me suggestions and rough idea and details because I was there. The original part of my house was built in 1837 and catching on to that there was a lot of discussion and we discovered things as we went along and it was great. He had enough experience and he was about 8th or 9th guy that we talked to contract. We kept the part of the 1st floor and removed a part of 2nd floor. He was capable doing that and had great degree of fact to do things and when I asked him, ‘what you would do?’ and he had an answer. My wife and I are very pleased with him and his efficiency. He was my general contractor. He sub contracted excavation work, concrete work and roofing. He worked with us. He is a plumber and gave up his fee for the plumber because he would normally break in an additional fee as a general contractor. He was generous. He is honest and hardworking guy. He is on time. He takes a coffee break and lunch break always at the same time. He is always methodical. Everything is very itemized and does not waste things. He is very good on that. He was excellent guy and doesn’t waste any materials. He is a local guy and he had built a lot of houses in the area and we liked the houses. We liked him because he was straight forward and liked his work. And all the guys he worked with respected his work and said he is a great guy. He is an exacting guy but very fair. People enjoy working with him

It went very smoothly. We began with a discussion of design and costs, which Peter always does in a creative, flexible, and collaborative way, and the building began as soon as the ground was sufficiently thawed to set footings. At every stage the work was beautifully done, and Peter also made all the necessary contacts with people who did the heating, electrics and so on. We simply watched it happen, and threw in our two cents' worth now and again. The addition is gorgeous and functions just as we had imagined. Absolutely perfect for what we needed

He did quite a lot of work inside and outside. I recommend him highly. He is reasonable. He is very trustworthy. I have really no complaints. I had estimates which were ridiculously high compared to him. Compared to most builders, he is very good.

St.John (the boss) removed the skirts, jacked up the barn and refit the footings. They gave the barn very thorough attention and were able to accomplish the repairs without rebuilding the whole darn thing. I was very impressed with the ingenuity of the team and their efforts to make sure that this would not happen again. Like I said, this was not the first time I have used Son Builders. They have always shown the highest level of fit and finish, they never waste time or materials. I highly recommend

They come back no and then for little projects for me. They recently came back to install two doors for me. It helped prevent a water issues. They did a great job.

I think they are best contractor in upper valley. They do really big jobs as well as home building. They build top of the line homes and they don't build smaller homes. They do really an outstanding job. They do a lot of work for local business and stores. They have been known to be excellent. By cost wise they are high end. I got what I paid for with them. The quality is really good

Allan and crew were very professional in solving major problems with the house. They cleaned up the house each day and put all cabinets and fixtures back in place. Would highly reccomend them.
