My name is Jordan Wright, I was born and raised in Vermont, graduated high school from Brattleboro Union High school, and attend Castleton University now Vermont state University and played football there. I graduated with an undergraduate degree and a masters degree. I also currently still coach football over at the college. \n\nNow for the business! I have always had a passion for landscaping and working out doors! It wasn’t till I worked for the town of Brattleboro doing landscaping for them when I fell in love with mowing and the perfection that comes along with it! Fast forward to college I worked for a company local in Rutland! And man my love came right back! Fast forward to now! I am ready to take the big step of running my own company! Where our values are paying attention to the details, treating everyone like they are family, and leaving your lawn looking the best in the neighborhood! \nWith all that being said this marks the first step to achieving one of my goals!

"I contacted Josh's Tree Service for the removal of a diseased 25 ft blue spruce. Josh responded promptly, understood the need to remove the tree ASAP, and removed the tree the next day. Josh carefully cleaned up all the branches and debris. I would definitely hire Josh for future work."

"KK's Tree Removal Service was the first company to respond from an online inquiry. Kody came the day before, surveyed the situation and arrived the following day as contracted, removed a large fallen tree and also took down another tree. leaving cut firewood. They did work beyond what was expected, for a reasonable fee and no extra charges. 100% satisfied with the completed job. Would recommend them as the best tree removal service."

"Deer demolished my arborvitae and Hemlocks this season and my shrubs soon became an eyesore. I asked for an estimate to remove the damaged trees and trim other shrubs and Coon Tree service was very responsive, showing up for an estimate ready to work! I hired them and they took care of everything the same day in a few hours as well as a few extra things I requested. They solved a major headache for me."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Yes, carefully prune back dead branches—don’t wait for pruning season. This helps keep your maple tree healthy and also helps prevent large branches from falling unexpectedly. Don’t seal the cut branch—trees can naturally take care of these wounds—but be sure to remove any source of fungus or pest infestation to help save the tree.

The recovery time for pruning depends on how much you prune, the species of tree, and how well you care for it afterward. All trees grow new wood and often sprout additional branches after pruning. Ideally, trees should recover from normal pruning after one or two years. Heavy pruning or slow-growing trees may take several years to fully recover.

If you’re taking down a tree that you don’t suspect is affected by disease or pests and it’s nowhere near your home or other structures, then calling in a tree company should work fine. However, anything more involved means an arborist is a better option. These pros have years of experience with tree removal and can safely take down trees located next to structures, and they have the tools, sanitization equipment, and experience to remove sick or dying trees without infecting nearby trees.

Most trees can be successfully transplanted while they are young, but pines, walnuts, and some oak tree varieties are more difficult to move because their root systems grow deeper than most other trees. Also, trees adapted to sandy soil with wide root systems like beeches, willows, and aspens are harder to dig out because their roots spread much farther out from the trunk. In these cases, unless the trees are very young and small, it’s a good idea to consult a tree planting professional.

You can use a felling ax to chop down a tree by following the same prep and steps as a chainsaw, but be prepared to use some muscle. For trees bigger than 7 inches in diameter, it can take some time and serious strength to cut down a tree using just an ax.
