We work extremely hard for the owner and always have the owner's best interest at heart. Our long term vision is for us to become a go to general contractor with capabilities to do multiple types of projects.

"Dan did a fabulous job on our deck. He was very professional and responsive. He was easy to work with and had excellent ideas on how to handle our needs. We would hire him again in an instant."

I provided quality work. From carpentry to plumbing/electrical. I grew up on a dairy farm and had to learn it all!

"Sam was very friendly and went right to work. He also didn’t mind my dogs."

We are family-owned and operated company, Angie's List Super Service Award winner 4 years and running, and home of the 24 Month Price Lock serving Norfolk, Suffolk, Middlesex, Worcester, Bristol, Plymouth, and Essex counties. We also work in the surrounding areas of New England for Angie's List customers. For 25 years, we have provided our customers with not only the best products on the market, but we finish our jobs with lifetime warrantied workmanship. We are normally available the same week you call. At Collegiate Window Systems we also understand that doing a full house of windows can be costly. Not only do we warranty our products and workmanship, but we give everybody a 24 month price lock when purchasing at least 5 openings. Have peace of mind knowing the price will not change for the next 24 months and finish remodeling your home when it is affordable. We provide Energy Star and State/Federally regulated rated products to every homeowner. Although you will recognize most brands we carry, Collegiate Window Systems is not dedicated to any one manufacturer, therefore we can get you any product that you desire. Let us celebrate 25 years in the window replacement business by making you our newest customer that loves their renovations.

"Phil and Doug were wonderful to work with- very responsive, professional, and answered all of my questions. We replaced a regular window in our home with a 7 foot bay window, which is beautiful and we absolutely love it. My one complaint was that a hole in the wall underneath the window was left following the installation, as well as some cracks, which were patched with a foamy substance but not a proper smooth plaster repair job that could be painted. We had to take care of that repair ourselves. Otherwise, my experience was very positive."

Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

Many kinds of window screens, such as solar screens, are designed to reduce the amount of harmful ultraviolet rays that pass through them and enter your home. The materials typically have UV-blocking properties. However, they may not completely eliminate all UV rays from passing through your home. Different window screens are designed for different purposes, and not all are designed to block or reduce UV rays. Do your research to make sure you’re getting the type of window screen to suit your needs.

For most common repairs, a professional window repair service can fix a window in one to three hours. However, replacing window frames or repairing a large, multi-pane window will likely take longer to complete. For comparison, a window installation or repair professional should be able to replace up to 15 windows per day.

If you only need a small repair for your window screen, it’s likely more cost-effective to repair rather than replace it. However, if you have to make the same repairs to a hole in the screen, for example, then it may be worth replacing the screen altogether. On the other hand, if the cost to make repairs to the screens or frames exceeds 50% of the cost to replace, you may want to consider replacing the window screens in question.

The cost to repair a window is $400 on average, with prices ranging from $75 to $1,500, depending on the window size, the broken part, and the window type. Broken glass and window frames are typically the most expensive window repairs, while minor fixes like repairing the track, seal, and sash are more affordable. Other cost factors include:

  • Number of panes

  • Window material

  • Accessibility

  • Labor costs

  • Emergency window repair

Tears, holes, or difficulty in opening and closing suggest a need for repair.
