"Josh and his crew did a great job enclosing my porch. He was able to match both the exterior and interior with my existing cabin so it looks beautiful. He insulated it very well so it stays warm and toasty with just an electric heater. Very happy with his workmanship!"

"AFFORDABLE ROOFING was able to squeeze me in between his last project and the next much bigger project because my roof was leaking and the next on agreed to wait a few days longer since his was not an immediate emergency! He utilized far better materials then the original ones and added a new type of weather shield and better flashing and 30 year tiles with a 10 year labor warranty! I would use him again for other projects and he is coming back to do a long list of small interior jobs.

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

DIY is possible but presents risks of uneven surfaces or improper adhesion; professionals offer expertise to ensure a lasting finish.

When applying multiple coats, wait four to six hours for each coat to dry. Not waiting long enough can result in streaks, peeling, and uneven color. Plus, it will be more difficult to discern where the second coat has already been applied.

Yes, they provide design insights that enhance space utility and visual appeal.

Apply a wood stain or sealant to properly maintain a wood deck railing and keep it looking new. Sealants protect wood from moisture and weathering. Regularly inspect the railing for loose screws, damaged balusters, and other signs of wear to make timely repairs. Routinely clean the railing using mild soap, water, and a soft bristle brush.

Wood stain does go bad, but it will last in the can for between three and six years, provided you use proper storage techniques. Storing wood stain in open containers or in extremely low or high temperatures will cause your wood stain to become unusable much more quickly. Water- and latex-based wood stains typically last for just two to four years, while oil-based wood stains can last for three to six years.
