"My computer (Windows XP) was running very slow and had become almost inoperable. It was taking a very long time to process anything, especially anything to do with the internet. IE was taking 100% of the cpu most of the time. Jim worked on my computer remotely for several days defragging, cleaning, anti-virus, malware, etc., but could not get it to perform anywhere near where it should. We decided that I needed a new computer. Jim built me a new computer (Windows 7 with racing stripes). The new system works very well and I am pleased with it. When Jim switched my files over from old to new, the Kodak Easy-Share program with my pictures did not get transferred. He has promised to make that transfer when he installs a new door covering the DVD reader which was broken upon setup. I will update this review when this occurs. I am very pleased with the new system and would do it all over again if a similar situation were present. "
"Sales process was good, courteous and helpful. Installation instructions were easy to follow. Did have a small issue with one sensor which was easily solved with a call. Control panel is easy to use and well constructed. Phone app is the best part. Not a big fan of a 2 year contract and the monthly rate feels a little high, but definitely a decent system. I had emailed them a question pertaining installing on double hung windows and never received a reply, but other than that their phone support prior to that was good."
"Tim did good work pretty much as promised. He installed the window precisely on schedule and so far it appears to be doing what it is supposed to do. The biggest flaw in the installation was that he left the inside unfinished, so i needed to put in a couple of hours work painting raw wood, which I had not been expecting."
Double-pane windows offer several key benefits, making them a worthwhile investment. They provide superior insulation and energy efficiency compared to single-pane windows, which helps limit heat loss, maintain more comfortable indoor temperatures, and lower your utility bills. The design, which features two panes of glass filled with air or gas, also dramatically reduces noise from outside, making your home significantly quieter. Additionally, the dual-pane construction strengthened by spacers improves the durability and security of your windows.
Yes, you can always make an existing window bigger, but the job complexity varies widely depending on the location of the window and the framing around it. Exterior walls are always load-bearing, so making windows wider will require structural changes that make for a more complex but doable project. Making windows taller often won’t require structural changes.
Folding window installation costs about $1,600 on average, ranging from $500 to $3,000. The cost factors of this project include the size, the type of folding windows, the number of panels, and the type of glass.
Different types of folding windows include:
Standard folding window: $200 per linear foot
Glazed folding window: $240 per linear foot
Standard folding window and swing door: $1,000 per linear foot
Folding window and sliding door: $2,000 per linear foot
Making a window in a basement larger costs an average of $4,200. You’ll need to pay an average of $550 to have a structural engineer plan the project, $500 to $1,500 for the installation labor, and an average of $2,200 for the excavation and window well installation. The remainder will go toward pulling permits, installing trim, and repairing drywall on the interior.
Common problems include broken latches, misaligned tracks, and worn seals. Regular inspection prevents major repairs.
