Small jobs welcome

"Vinnie and crew came in and helped us create a driveway with additional parking areas. They had the machinery to remove old, rotted tree stumps that were causing our driveway to sink, and then excavated and reshaped the way the front of our home is presented by designing a beautiful crushed red stone driveway and built blue stone retaining walls that contrast and make everything pop with curb appeal. While they were here, they also pointed out a tree that was diseased and potentially threatening to collapse, so additionally the crew dropped the tree and hauled it all away. We cannot say enough good things about their professionalism and knowledge of how to expertly assess and correct any project inside or outside of a home."

"Kody and his crew worked diligently, all day through a continuous rain storm. No wind, no lightning, just a chilly, rainy day. Kody and Terry listened to my concerns, and were able to formulate a safe work plan that wouldn't cause more damage to our pole barn. The trees that needed cleared out of the fall path were dropped, limbed, and bucked for firewood. The branches were quickly cleared. The large pine tree we were concerned with needed a little tugging to get it to drop in the driveway as planned. Kody had a sufficiently long piece of rope, and used his clean up truck to apply the force needed. Terry cut the tree trunk, and down she came. They dropped a 70 foot section, with a base diameter of just about 3 feet. There were no issues during the job, and as I said, they worked all afternoon clearing the debris. Since Kody does excavating and landscaping I took the opportunity to get his input for another job on my property. I look forward to using KK's Tree Removal, Excavating and More on my next project. I recommend them to anyone without reservation. While they do not have a web address, they are on FaceBook, and can be reached at 518-577-4348."

"Josh and his team arrived right on time and were able to complete the work of removing 10 damaged/dead trees and clearing a large brush pile in about 4 hours. They left the property spotless and communicated with me along way. I highly recommend them. Phil B"

"Mike was able to fit me in the same day for an estimate which surprised me because I'm sure a lot of people are needing his services with all the rain lately but he was in the area that day and came by. Although the company is a nation wide chain, its a franchise and a small business. He is an honest Vermonter with Vermont values which I appreciate. He gave me options but didn't try to talk me into something I couldn't afford and is doing the work within two weeks which I was also happy about being a very busy time for this type of thing."

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

It is almost always necessary to hire a land surveyor near you to ensure your fence sits on the right side of the property line. Mistaking the shape of your property can lead to fines and costly changes if you have to move or adjust the privacy fence—not to mention some surly looks from your neighbor. We recommend jumpstarting your fence planning in the spring to ensure there is plenty of time to map out your plan before construction season.

Costs vary, but you can expect to spend between $1,000 and $4,000 to prepare land for a mobile home or before you build a house. You’ll need to clear enough land for the foundation, which may require leveling or grading, as well as removing trees, stumps, and plants. Don’t forget to plan for permits and fees and the installation of a gas line, water line, and sewer main.

A professional land surveyor ensures accurate property boundaries and prevent legal disputes.

This is fairly rare, but sometimes the local government or a group like a historical society will label a tree as a landmark, or historical item. These designations almost always come with a small, on-site plaque for identification, but you should also be able to look up protected trees in your area on a city website or similar list. If the tree in question is a landmark, call your local government and ask how to proceed before making any plans.

If you or your mortgage lender think your land survey needs to be more accurate, double-check the survey report and get at least a second opinion from the original surveyor and an inspector, if possible. Although it’s unlikely, even reputable surveying companies can make mistakes. An inaccurate survey can cause problems down the road in the case of any property line disputes, so it’s best to resolve any inaccuracies as quickly as possible.
