"They looked at the outside and it looked like it could be a problem. Then they went up into the unfinished attic, saw that it was a plumbing problem, videoed the problem for me so I could resolve, and didn't charge me because it was a "free inspection". Great customer service, thanks!"

"Jeff and his crew were great!! Very helpful in explaining the process and answering all our questions. Just bought a new home that had white mold throughout as had been empty for couple of years. They clearly explained what they needed to do, promptly showed up and completely remediated all the mold in the crawlspace and first floor. He removed mold in our attic in our previous home and did a great job, and in another family member’s home. We highly recommend him!"

"Rapid response to our problem and a very complete, professional inspection! Also, Bo was upfront about the cost and took as many samples that were required, but no more. It was definitely worth the money."

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

Ideally, no one will live in a house with elevated radon levels, as prolonged exposure increases the risk of serious health issues like lung cancer. However, homes with radon can be made safe through mitigation systems, such as active soil depressurization. Testing for radon regularly and addressing high levels helps ensure a safe living environment.

Knowing what to expect during a mold inspection can help make the process easier. Prepare by closing doors and windows for 48 hours, turning off HVAC systems for at least two hours, and avoiding disinfectant chemicals for at least 48 hours.

The mold inspection process takes between 24 and 48 hours. Your professional will check walls, fireplaces, air ducts, vents, and windows for visible spores. They will also take an outdoor base air sample. Your pro will send these samples to a lab for testing and advise you on the findings.

Closing out an open building permit requires that you have your professional schedule a final inspection of the work they completed. In some cases, like a roof replacement or solar installation, a building inspector from your local municipality may just carry out a drive-by inspection. In other cases, like new construction or a change to interior plumbing or electrical work, the inspector might need to gain access to your home to confirm that the work was done in accordance with the local building code.
