"John did an excellent job painting the exterior of our house. The estimate he gave was accurate to the final cost of the job, and he completed the job in the amount of time he estimated. He was communicative in the lead up to the job and promptly addressed any concerns. He kept a clean worksite and did a very neat job painting. He was also very helpful in pointing out a few areas for me to keep an eye on in the future for possible repairs. All, said, I had a great experience hiring John."

"LeafFilter doesn't clean gutters, they sell and install their LeafFilter Gutter products and only clean the gutters if you buy their product. I can't even begin to afford their product so I wasn't able to get my gutter cleaned by them."

"I hired Andy and his crew to clean my windows this spring and I could not be happier. They did an outstanding job, my wife and I are extremely pleased. Great value for the service provided. I definitely be asking them to come back again when I need their services. I would highly recommend Andy and his company for their cleaning services. Very courteous and professional. "Weâ ve had a wood stove for most of the 30 years in our home and have used a number of chimney cleaners. A decade ago we landed on Fireside Gas & Chimney Service as the best value and by far, the best service. Their work is impeccable - they are more thorough and more thoughtful than any of our previous chimney and stove cleaners. In addition to a comprehensive cleaning of our stove pipe, the chimney is inspected, a report is filled out and a copy is left with us. James always carefully disassembles our stoveâ s smoke baffles and meticulously cleans them before reinstalling. At the end of the service call, the area theyâ ve worked in is left spotless. During our recent service, James changed the damaged heat panels in the stove with replacements I had purchased earlier and didnâ t charge me for his installation time. In addition, they felt the state of the stove pipe indicated that we burn efficiently and modestly enough that they recommend only returning for a cleaning every 2 years. Tim and James are both refreshingly honest and truly helpful. If itâ s possible to give a 3-thumbs-up, Iâ d do it for Fireside Gas & Chimney Service."

A Level 2 Chimney Inspection is typically required upon the sale or transfer of property or anytime the system's experienced a significant change such as a Chimney Fire. \n\nWe also Service Dryer Vents! One of the most important factors playing a role in your Dryer's overall performance is its Venting System. Dryer Vents should be free and clear of excessive lint and debris. When servicing these systems a before and after Air Flow reading is taken to ensure maximum efficiency and shortest possible dry time for your clothing.\n\n

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can build a deck around a fire pit, as long as it is safely enclosed, meets code requirements, and is at least 15 feet away from your home. You’ll want to ensure you have a heat-resistant barrier between the fire pit and your deck to prevent any structural damage and fires. A galvanized ring surrounded by pavers, brick, or stone makes for a beautiful, safe, and sturdy design.

Composite decking requires a solid foundation, substructure, or subframe to ensure stability. This base is typically composed of posts, beams, joists, and footings. The frame's joists can be built from various materials like composite, plastic, timber, or metal, as long as the base can support the deck's weight without shifting. A professional deck builder might recommend installing the frame on a solid concrete base for added durability. The final design and materials for the substructure will depend on your budget, the type of deck, and environmental conditions.

The problems with composite decking include a high rate of expansion and contraction from temperature swings. This characteristic can cause boards to split, delaminate, or peel. In addition, significant movement can cause shrinking, warping, twisting, and bending. For this reason, you should minimize moisture and ensure proper airflow below your deck.

How long it takes to install composite decking depends on the size of the decking material, the skills of the person installing the deck, the number of people helping, and how much prep work needs to be done before you can begin. Generally speaking, it takes anywhere from a few days to several weeks to build a composite deck.

Although composite decking is extremely durable, it’s also susceptible to extreme heat. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause fading, warping, and cracking. Composite also retains heat more than wood, which makes it dangerous to walk on in the summer. You can help prevent heat damage by only building with composite in shaded areas or using rugs to cover the hottest spots.
