"Jill provided two different floor plans for us, and was very flexible, as far as working the option of piano into the room.  She responded to several follow-up questions I had, and provided suggestions for where to locate resources.  Jill was very easy to work with, and very accommodating. However, I found the process of working with a "virtual designer" to be a bit challenging for me.  That was definitely no fault of Jill's, thought.  I would use her again, particularly if I needed help with planning a room layout.

"Jack & his crew were excellent! Friendly and courteous throughout a fairly large job. When delayed by weather they even came on a weekend day to catch up. The roof looks excellent and we're very pleased with the quality of the materials used. Jack was knowledgeable and took the time to answer our questions. One of the most important aspects for us was to have the area around our house kept clean & clear of nails and debris throughout the process and they more than exceeded our expectations in this regard - cleaning up neatly every day that they worked. We would not hesitate to work with Jack again.

Floor Cleaning and Waxing questions, answered by experts

Each flooring material has its own maintenance requirements and cleaning techniques. For example, hardwood floors may require occasional refinishing and specialized cleaning products, while vinyl and laminate are easy to clean with regular sweeping and mopping. Concrete and natural stone, on the other hand, may need periodic sealing to maintain their appearance and durability. Follow manufacturer recommendations and utilize appropriate cleaning methods to preserve the integrity of your chosen flooring material.

The cost to polish floors averages around $200 per room, but you could pay anywhere from $100 to $300. Some factors that influence the total cost of floor polishing include the following:

  • Square footage of flooring

  • Type of floor

  • Whether you need floor repairs done beforehand

  • Whether or not you want professional floor cleaning done beforehand

Since square footage is the most significant cost factor, you might get a more accurate estimate by using the average cost per square foot for floor polishing, which is between $1.00 and $2.50.

To maintain vinyl and linoleum floors, regular sweeping and damp mopping are recommended. It is also important to avoid using harsh chemicals, as this helps maintain the floor's appearance and integrity while preventing damage.

If you’re cleaning or repairing laminate floors, avoid anything abrasive like heavy-grit sandpaper or steel wool. Because the image layer is protected by a topcoat, the image layer is more vulnerable to scratches and damage if the topcoat is damaged. And if the image layer is scratched, it can reveal the wood fiber core.

Regular cleaning, avoiding harsh chemicals, and periodic resealing extend its lifespan.
