"Destiny was so nice to my elderly mom. The house hadn't been cleaned in a very long time and we needed to put it up for sale quickly. Destiny's crew was more than up to the task! They cleaned thoroughly and now the house looks great for the realtor to take pics. I will call Destiny again to keep the house clean until it sells. Great job!"

"We received outstanding service from Grit to Gloss. The owner is very professional and responsive. We had the exterior of our house pressure washed and the exterior windows cleaned. The job was completed thoroughly and efficiently. We look forward to working with Elisha next year and highly recommend this company."

Small jobs welcome

"Angie's List turned up Robin's Cleaning Service as a possible contractor for carpet cleaning. We went with her since she's independent and relatively local (Gretna). She came today, worked hard for over two hours to clean our Master BR and closet, lower staircase and roughly 1/4 of the lower living area, and did a lovely, attentive and thorough job for $225. Very pleasant--does carpets and other cleaning, painting, landscaping, mowing and pressure washing between morning and evening school bus driving for Gretna public schools (all three levels). Just a really sweet lady whom we enjoyed getting to know. If you have odd jobs, give her a chance. Robin Hall, 434-728-0529, is highly recommended! House Cleaning FAQs, answered by experts

Clean your vinyl plank floors at least one to two times per week with a broom, vacuum, or microfiber mop. You can save the mopping and disinfecting for your deeper cleans about two to three times a month. Keep in mind that if you find sticky spots, spills, or stains, it's best to take care of them ASAP.

How often you should clean laminate floors depends on how often people walk on the floors, tracking dirt and grime behind them. Sweep away debris several times each week, and mop and deep clean your laminate floors every two months, increasing these intervals when necessary.

Steam mopping effectively cleans and sanitizes floors to kill germs and remove ingrained grease and grime. However, vacuuming or sweeping the flooring first is always a good idea. This removes the larger dust and debris particles that can end up being pushed around the floor by a non-suctioning steam cleaner.

If you avoid deep cleaning, it can lead to a slew of issues for your health and home. Mold and mildew can grow in damp areas of the home, such as bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms, which can cause allergic reactions and even structural damage to your house. A buildup of grime and dirt can allow bacteria and germs to thrive. A dirty home can also attract pests such as cockroaches, ants, and rodents.

You can remove stubborn stains from your toilet by scrubbing with a store-bought cleaner appropriate for the toilet’s material. If you’re looking for a homemade solution, you can also use vinegar and baking soda—just pour 2 cups of white vinegar around the edges of your toilet. Once the bowl is wet with vinegar, sprinkle 3 tablespoons of baking soda, concentrating on the stains. Scrub the bowl with a toilet brush and flush to clean the mixture.

Just a note: While combining baking soda and vinegar is OK, never mix that solution with any other cleaners.
