"LeafFilter doesn't clean gutters, they sell and install their LeafFilter Gutter products and only clean the gutters if you buy their product. I can't even begin to afford their product so I wasn't able to get my gutter cleaned by them."

"They did pretty good job.  I think the door needed to be cut down a little bit because it's started to rub against the wood and wear.  It took him several hours for him to finish because I also had him do a few other things like clean my gutters.  I would recommend him and use him again!"

I am an Ex food industry worker that was fed up with the grind and hustle. I have started cleaning houses, gutters, junk removal, yards, move ins and outs. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. My dream is to make this my full time job to help take care of my wife and kids.

"All my gutter work was completed on the day scheduled. Mr. Conyers and his assistant were very polite and answered all the questions I had. I had several children over and when Mr. Conyers discovered a bird nest, he not only was careful not to endanger the birds but also helped to children get up to where they could see the baby birds. I felt that the cost was very reasonable given the scope of the work and I'd definitely use them again if needed."

Gutter Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Gutters should be cleaned at least twice a year, in the spring and in the fall, to remove the debris from trees that can clog the eavestroughs and downspouts. Debris like leaves, twigs, and seed pods can build up and cause your gutters to overflow, potentially causing damage to your roof and foundation. Water backing up under the shingles can rot the edge of your roofline. Overflow water falling next to your foundation can end up leaking into your basement or crawl space.

If not properly maintained, an underground downspout may damage your home's foundation. A clogged downspout can back up, causing water to pool around the base of your home and seep into the foundation. Regular inspections and maintenance keep your downspout in good working order, preventing damage and protecting your home.

Frequently, when water flows over gutters, it indicates a potential clog, necessitating cleaning. For instance, if a twig becomes lodged in the downspout, it can lead to a traffic jam, causing more leaves and sticks to accumulate. Another potential issue is an incorrect pitch, as gutters should channel water toward the downspout. If you observe water overflowing the end cap or leaking through it, it suggests that your gutters are improperly tilted.

Regular cleaning, checking for leaks, and applying protective coatings help prevent corrosion.

The most common problem with gutters is clogging from debris like leaves, blossoms, and seeds from surrounding trees. This debris can block downspouts, leading to improper drainage and water overflow.

Other common issues include:

  • Leaks and holes, which can often be repaired with gutter sealant or caulk.

  • Rust, sagging, or detachment from the roofline.

  • Damage from strong storms.

  • Improperly pitched gutters that don't drain correctly.

Regular cleaning in the spring and fall is the best way to prevent most of these problems. You may need to clean them more often during periods of heavy leaf fall.
