Small jobs welcome

"We hired JM Concrete to remove an old broken sidewalk and pour a new one for the entrance to our home. They did a wonderful job. They are easy to get in touch with and good at returning phone calls. They gave us an excellent price on the job. They were professional, courteous, and worked hard. We are very pleased with the finished product. I would definitely recommend this company."

"Derrick brought in the mulch I needed within days. He and his crew are talented and dedicated, my beds were covered with 22 cubic yards. Derrick and one of his crew are also skilled at concrete and masonry, so I hired the pair to raise custom shaped and installed flag stones. I never thought I would find artisans with the skill to re-install them with the slope and fit required. They pulled it off"

"Jason and team removed existing and broken aggregate concrete driveway and laid down asphalt. They came on time and finished when they said they would. They had serious construction equipment that didn't never touched my house or a sprinkler head right next to the driveway. Excellent job."

"I contracted with Mr. Matthew Daniels of M.D.'s Exteriors to power wash my home and aggregate driveway and brick light posts. Mr. Daniels arrived at the specified time to do the work. When he arrived I asked for a price to power wash 2 10 X 10 patios. He said that he did not like to leave anything dirty when his work was complete so he would clean them. He also asked if my shed was part of the contract, which it was not, and he said he would clean that also! He did an excellent job on all of the areas. When I went to inspect the final job I found that he has also cleaned my heat pumps and back up generator. To top it all off, my wife had to go out and the car she was going to use was dirty from being under the trees and Mr. Daniels clean that for her. Mr. Daniels was prompt, courteous, and took pride in his work. I would recommend him to anyone who needs this type of lob done."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Natural ice melts can often get the job done without damaging concrete. You can try non-corrosive options such as kitty litter, alfalfa meal, coffee grounds, sugar beet juice, and heated snow-melting mats. While they may cause some staining, these natural melts are safe for concrete, pets, and the environment.

Whether or not an annual snow removal contract is worth it depends mainly on location. If you live in an area with frequent heavy snowfall, a yearly contract could be better than paying per clearing. If you live in an area where it only snows a few times a year, paying per snowstorm may be a better option.

There are several ways to remove snow from your roof: using a snow rake, salting the roof with calcium chloride, using a rope (cautiously), and using heating cables. It’s important to mention that pretty, fluffy, sparkling snow weighs a great deal, and when physically removing snow from a roof, you should be aware of large snow slabs breaking off. These can weigh hundreds of pounds and are a real danger, so be extremely careful anytime you’re doing this type of work.
