They had three other workers in addition to the 3 Georges and Immanual led the other workers. I was fortunate that they could work me in due to someone else suspending a job. They were very reasonably priced and performed excellent work. There were 3 generations of George's (their last name) on the job. The youngest is the best for communicating and their team did an exceptional job. They are ALL Business and got right to work and did not stop until the job was done and it looked fantastic. I would absolutely recommend them again. The work they did was the repaving (asphalt over existing) a semicircle driveway and widening it in a couple places. They pulled up the asphalt in front of the garage and at the street to make sure final repaving blended smoothly. Expertly done! Thank You George Paving!"

"They cussed out my neighbor and tried starting an altercation because he asked them not to block the road so he could return home. They drove all over my neighbors yard leaving ruts and drops of asphalt behind. When I called to discuss it the lady was hostile and argumentative and hung up on me after also swearing. The damage was very minimal but the attitude and lack of professionalism was extreme. Hire at your own risk."

Asphalt edging secures the sides of your driveway to prevent crumbling and cracking over time. Most driveways have edges with a 45-degree grading. This helps transfer some of the stress from the asphalt to the ground underneath. If your driveway doesn’t have proper edging, the pressure from your car may break down the edges over time.

Asphalt and concrete have their pros and cons, but it really depends on your priorities. If you’re looking for durability, concrete’s your best bet, lasting up to 50 years with minimal upkeep. Asphalt, on the other hand, needs more TLC with regular resealing but is cheaper to install and easier to repair. Concrete also wins in curb appeal and resale value, offering homeowners more customization. But if you’re looking for quicker, more affordable installation, asphalt has the advantage. Ultimately, your decision should align with your budget, willingness for maintenance, and design preferences.

Asphalt and tarmac are not the same thing. Traditional tarmac, short for tarmacadam, uses tar as a binder to hold crushed stone together. Asphalt uses bitumen—a byproduct of crude oil—to bind aggregate. Though tarmac was once a go-to for roads, asphalt has become the modern standard. And these days, most surfaces referred to as “tarmac” are actually asphalt. So, while the names may overlap, the key distinction lies in the binder—tar for tarmac and bitumen for asphalt.

It takes recycled asphalt 48 hours to initially harden and up to 3 months to fully cure. It’s best to stay off of recycled asphalt for at least 48 hours, then you can walk or drive standard vehicles on it. Hold off on driving heavy trucks or equipment on it for at least 7 days. Allowing the surface to melt together and harden ensures that the surface stays durable and long-lasting. 

When hiring an asphalt paving contractor to install your driveway, ask as many questions up front as possible. Here are a few questions to ask a prospective driveway contractor:
