"Jimmy Chris and Jeff were great just like all the other folks said. Replaced some old wood windows and storm windows with the Vinyl by Design windows. The windows have made it warmer in winter and cooler in summer and a lot quieter. Professional job. They had to cut one window through stucco, put in the new window and did a fine job of the trim work."

"I needed stucco repair work on an old chimney (and other spots). Grady was meticulous and thoughtful on what approaches and materials would work. Throughout the project they allocated sufficient time for each treatment to cure and inspected the work before proceeding to the next step. Grady started the project with no money down and only required ongoing payments for materials until the project was well underway. The final payment was due only after they did a final inspection. Total project cost was also below other bids."

Small jobs welcome

Offers commercial services

Hello my name's Lewis haddox and I am a Handy man servicing the roanoke , salem va and surrounding areas. If you’re looking for someone who actually enjoys fixing the leaky faucet, diagnosing the weird noise from the furnace, and leaving a workspace cleaner than they found it—let’s talk. With over 10 years of hands-on handyman experience, I’ve seen it all. From sagging drywall and broken drawer slides to full property turnovers, I bring a can-do attitude and a toolbag full of solutions. But what really sets me apart is my HVAC certification. While most handymen have to call in a specialist, I’m the one who stays to fix the AC or troubleshoot the furnace. That saves you time, money.I take real pride in every job big or small and working for myself allows me to do even the smallest jobs most larger services wont.So next time you need help and want someone respectful, knowledgeable and will be there when scheduled till jobs completed give me a call.Always free estimates hope I can help.

"Glenn and the Shenandoah Home Improvements team that replaced our roof were wonderful! The price was way below the competitors in the area for the same product! Glenn was professional, courteous, and called/follow-up as per our discussion. The roof was completed ahead of schedule and looks wonderful. The warranty is great and I feel confident if there was an issue with the roof, Glenn would make it right. We will definitely be calling them again for additional work we may need! I highly recommend them!"

"We recently had Hometown Windows install every window in our home and we couldn't be happier or more pleased with our new beautiful windows. Jimmy was very helpful in listening to what we wanted and gave us excellent advice and recommendations. I love my black shutters Jimmy! We don't have enough words to compliment Jeff who installed our windows. First, let me tell you that we are in our 70's and have had many projects done throughout the years, but Jeff exceeds above and beyond any expectations we had for a job well done. He is kind, thoughtful and respectful and will treat your home like it is his own. His work ethic is very rare nowadays and he works so hard from the moment he arrives until he leaves. He is very skilled and we think a perfectionist in the work he does. We will definitely contact Hometown Windows and Jeff to do future projects for us. Frank & Sondra Stamper Salem, VA"

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

The best tool for DIYers to use to cut glass is a glass cutter, which can either use a straight blade or a sharp cutting wheel to score glass. Once you score the lines you want to cut, elevate the scored line over a pivot point and apply light, even pressure to both sides. Make sure you wear protective gloves and glasses to stay safe during the process.

Wall-to-wall mirrors have fallen out of popularity in recent years and have several drawbacks. They take up a lot of space, which can overwhelm small bathrooms. If you like the look, a wall of reflective medicine cabinets can add storage. Just keep in mind that a wall of mirrors requires more maintenance because smudges and splashes are more visible than on a wall.

Yes, you can hire someone to hang a mirror in your home if you’re unable to tackle the job yourself. You can search for nearby mirror installers, but often, your best bet is a local handyperson. If you’re having other work done in the same room, such as plumbing, drywall, or electrical, those contractors are likely able to help hang the mirror as well—no need to hire someone else.

The cost to remove a mirrored wall from your home ranges between $100 and $3,300, though the average price is only $500. You can save money by doing it yourself, but make sure you have safety equipment such as goggles and gloves, as well as the proper tools (drywall knife, wire saw, and a plastic sheet or tarp to cover the floor).

Once you’ve gotten any scuff marks, grime, and burn marks off your glass stovetop you can use vinegar to finalize the clean without leaving streaks. Just put some white vinegar in a spray bottle and spritz it onto the stovetop before wiping it in a consistent direction with a microfiber cloth.
