Country Living Landscaping is brand new to the Richmond,VA area. We service residential and commercial properties from Lake Anna to Lake Caroline. We are a small, family run company. We aren't big in staffing numbers(2-3 at most), so we will spend a bit more time on your property. This will ensure you that nothing will be overlooked. Also, we don't have as near of overhead as most companies do. This will usually mean a smaller cost in prices. We offer Month-to-Month, 8-month, and 12 month contracts. Contracts can be made payable by cash, check and credit card.

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Professional lakefront landscaping addresses environmental factors such as water level fluctuations, erosion control, and native plant suitability. Regular maintenance includes pruning, fertilization, and ensuring drainage systems function well.

The best time to plant is between spring and autumn. Springtime weather is typically mild and is when nurseries start to bloom. When the summer weather arrives and it’s hot out, it’s best to avoid planting bare-root plants, but you can still plant many in-container varieties. The first sign of fall is another great opportunity to plant biennials if you live in southern states, or a lovely vegetable garden up north.

You should avoid planting grass, shrubs, plants, and trees in freezing temperatures, as the ground can get frozen and become too hard for proper root growth. It’s best to plant in the fall to allow your plants to establish root systems before the first frost. Landscaping when the average temperature in your area is between 50 and 60 degrees will usually deliver the best results.

Late August, September, and mid-October are the ideal months for planting a young tree. However, the best time to plant a tree ultimately depends on when the weather transitions to fall-like conditions and eventually winter frost. As long as the hottest days of summer have passed and the ground hasn’t frozen yet, you can still successfully plant trees.

In addition to aloe vera and lilac, other effective humidity-reducing plants include peace lilies, Boston ferns, English ivy, spider plants, and lucky bamboo. These plants thrive in humid environments and can naturally lower moisture levels. Place them in areas prone to dampness for the best results.
