Called in early March to inquire about services. Decided to move forward.
First service was in early April -- 3-4 week's after hiring, but OK, felt it was a late spring this year and they were busy. I had a call a couple of times but they finally came out.
It was raining when arrived and they applied the fertilizer but technician said they would have to come back to apply the weed control. OK fine, can't argue about that.
Two-weeks later, nada. Called the number. Asked them when they were coming back to finish up. Said they would create a ticket.
A week later, nada (now 3-weeks after). Called again. Response was ticket was created *only* a week ago. Really? It's nearly May. 3 weeks after the initial applications. Weeds now in full force. I hired you in early March. Apparently lack of response is OK?
They wanted payment immediately however! Unfortunately I was prompt in payment albeit I didn't receive all my services.
Glad I didn't pay for the full year up-front.
Would not recommend, will be cancelling.
The next season, they came anyway and did the first treatment, leaving a bill at the door. I called them to remind them that the service had been discontinued. The person who answered the phone said they had no record of this.
A week or two later, I received an invoice for the unwanted service. I called, but the person said the invoice must be paid. I said it was not authorized. Representative did not care much about that.
Today, I received a collection notice from a third party agency demanding payment.
This company is utterly unprofessional, would not recommend.
I decided to ask that the technician come when I was at home so I could be certain he saw and sprayed the weeds needing treatment. The technician came and went without ringing my doorbell, but left another hang tag saying the weeds had been treated. Again, no change in the weeds. This happened one or two more times. Finally, I marked the weed patches with orange flags so they couldn't be missed. That didn't work either. My neighbor saw the Scott's guy at my house and said, "He couldn't have been there for more than two minutes." This was the time allocated to "treat" weed problems in about 8,000 sf of lawn. I called Scott's again and emphasized that I needed the technician to speak with me before he did any spraying at my house. I didn't want the weeds to continue being missed. As we walked around the yard, I pointed out the areas that needed treatment, and he still was cavalier about spraying properly. He walked right past patches of weeds I'd reported as problems and didn't even spray some of them at all! Several contacts with Scott's local management team resulted in no improvement to the service I was receiving. They ultimately agreed to give me a partial refund of my lawn maintenance fees, and I cancelled the service.
Now they're calling back asking me to hire them again. Seriously?
