"Over all the job went really well. However, it seemed to take longer than it should. Total Remodeling Systems was very responsive and professional, the work crews were not on time however. I did call the project manager on a Monday night, and the job was completed on Tuesday. I am very happy with the deck. It express high quality and workmanship and have had several compliments on it. I highly recommend Total Remodeling Systems."

Awnings questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can replace just the fabric on an awning without having to replace the entire awning frame and hardware. This process will take a professional about one to two hours. If you want to DIY, it could take longer, especially for large or retractable awnings. Replacing the fabric on an awning can improve the look of your home and help naturally cool your interior and exterior spaces.

Stainless steel and copper are the most durable and will probably last the longest, especially when you compare them to fabric awnings. Steel is the most popular if your budget isn’t a top priority, but some people prefer copper awnings over steel because they are lighter, which makes them easier to install. Aluminum offers a more budget-friendly metal awning option that is still attractive and offers some durability, especially compared to fabric.

Minor fabric patching is DIY-friendly, but frame and mechanical repairs should be professionally handled.

The main disadvantage of an awning window is that you can’t use it to escape in an emergency. Another disadvantage of awning windows is that they can get dirty quicker than other types of windows that don’t open outward, especially if you keep them open when it’s raining or snowing. You can hire a local window replacement installer to decide if an awning window is right for your home.

Retractable awnings offer numerous advantages for homeowners, including protecting your outdoor furniture against the elements. It can also help keep your deck in better shape since it adds a layer of protection against sun and precipitation.
