More importantly, he understood my expectations. These windows needed special attention. There was a level of detail required that not any expert would be able to handle. Grady took the time to learn their needs and stayed on the job until it was to my satisfaction. He even reworked an entire window just because I didn't like the way that it looked. Grady truly showed expertise with his ability to work on such a delicate job and even taught me a few things about historic window repair. He replaced broken antique glass with one just as aged and just as historic. If a window had to be completely rebuilt beyond his solid estimate, he did it without any complications to my budget. My windows are not only restored, but they are literally brought back from the past. Any enthusiast will appreciate the lint-seed oil, putty, and antique glass that was all restored to perfection. It was a pleasure having Grady work with us. He even stayed in the house at times to make sure he was available for the job. In fact, we're going to rename the room in which he stayed to "Grady's Den". Thank for bringing character and craftsmanship to my investment!"

"The installation was efficient and satisfactory; however, I would have appreciated it if the sales rep, when meeting with me at my home and going over the options, would have pointed out that the color of the window frame would not match the color of surrounding wood."

"Two painters arrived on time on Friday and worked all day and did the priming and partially broke up the hearth, with a chisel and a hammer. Personally I think it would have been easier on them if they had used a hammer drill. Two more painters arrived on time on Sat. and did the rest of the hearth, finished painting and did the trim. They did a very professional job on time and on budget and I would use them again.

"Made an appt. with Castle Rep, James, for 17 windows and vinyl siding. He spent 1 hour talking about how great his company and windows are before finally getting down to the issue. We were told that CASTLE makes and services their own window, with all the best technology and technicians available. The price per window for energy efficient came out to over $1,200 per double-hung window! And since they make their own products, we could not find a way to compare quality and price with other manufacturers. But his per-window price exceeds the average price of $500-700 by A LOT! When we balked, he made a call to his "manager" to see if we qualified for a "special promotional" discount. If we were to commit right there on the spot, we would get an additional 10% off! Still way to high. We said we would think about it (he got sad and snippy), and that we wanted to hear about the vinyl siding quote before we made any decisions. He told us he could not give us a siding quote until his company did an "eagle view" measurement, which would require another appointment! We had no intention of sitting through ANOTHER high-pressure appointment. High pressure, long-drawn out presentation and he would not leave us with anything in writing! No brochures, prices, nothing! He refused to put anything in writing and we could not have a break down of labor and costs. I even asked him if I could have a copyhh of the window warranty and he said "only if you purchase right now." And they did not come prepared with references or previous job locations! When we further researched the company, we found they did make very excellent products, but the #1 complaint was by far that they did not honor their lifetime warranty and that customer service was horrible. In the end, we chose not to do business.."
